This small shop offers some of the best pastries I have ever tasted in my life. Do not overlook it! If you are in the area, you must visit. Each pastry was soft, light, with perfect flavor profiles that were not overly sweet or artificial. I had never experienced such soft tea cookies before visiting this shop, with a nutty yet simple taste that felt nostalgic. The original glazed donuts were amazing, and I could eat them every day without getting tired of them. The long johns were also great, and I regret not buying more. I hate giving them no five stars. Wood's bakery is a cornerstone in this town and I've been here since I live. It is an amazing old school bakery loaded with delicious classics. We just ordered a cheesecake. It has no Graham cracker crust. That was crazy I came from a classic bakery. At first glance, I thought it was yellow cake, but it wasn't sweet. It tastes literally like bread?? The actual filling was very dense and when it was cut into it, it was not smooth. I really hope they consider changing the recipe for this article because it does not reflect everything else in their business.
I recently revisited the STL Donut Tour this weekend and visited Wood Bakery. What an amazing place! They have a wide variety of delicious cakes, cookies, and desserts, as well as a huge selection of donuts to choose from. They offer different special styles on different days, and I was lucky enough to try the salted caramel long john, which was absolutely delicious. This bakery has some of the best cake donuts I have tried on the tour this season. Be sure to stop by if you enjoy cake donuts and custard-filled donuts!
Make sure to wake up early because this restaurant has the best baklava in town! They offer a variety of 4 or 5 different types that are absolutely delicious. The place gets busy in the morning because the food is top-notch. Also, if you ever need a birthday cake, this is the place to go. The staff took great care of me and the cake was fantastic. Super friendly staff. Donuts are awesome! The cookie sandwich was delicious. Stop in to get something yummy and ask about locations in your area. I learned they partner with various businesses and deliver donuts to places like MotoMart etc if that is more convenient.
An amazing small business worth visiting. They have plenty of variety to choose from. I've had donuts several times and brought them into work. Everyone at work loves them. Easily rivals commericized big business pastry shop. Keep up the amazing work!
Love this place for 30 plus Years , hung out with granddaughter wen I was a teen. Creme horns are to die for. Donuts are amazing . Although they no longer are allowed to accept snap benefits, due to cost inflation. Still worth the money. Amen
