Was back here last night after a hiatus as we use to live 5 mins away.<br/ <br/ The dumplings have always been very good and rest of the menu pretty good. But it's the fried pork dumplings we come for. We've eaten at many dumpling places in Melb but I find the dumplings here to be consistently crispy yet non oily.<br/ <br/ Shanghai fried noodles is also very good too.<br/ <br/ Anyway I wouldn't have tried here if I read just the reviews, yet the overall score is 3.8 so I assume they have quite a number of happy diners who haven't provided a written review.<br/ <br/ I didn't see the infamous lady owner last night, not sure if she still owns the place but she's never provided bad service to us...
Ive been here many a time since it has openedeverything is yummy <br/ <br/ But the lady that runs the place is like a 'super, soup nazi ' from sienfeld ? ...if it wasn 't for her id give it a 5.0....absolutely no service skills.. she basically treats you like a number ... she even asked the table next to me to leave because they had already finished eating!!!...and were just talking!!.<br/ <br/ Stating ,that the table was booked for someone else .disgraceful especially when I found out that it was a birthday dinner<br/ I gave 3 because of the very poor service damn shame because the food is always good. ..probably the best dumplings in the eastern suburbs . ..my advice. .....take away only.....
As far as dumplings go these were not to bad, of course you can find better, but as far as dumpling in the outer suburbs go you cant complain.The prices are cheap so you can stock up! The pork shanghai buns were actually really good! Beautiful flavour, my only real complaint is with the pan fried dumplings, i generally find that some of the tops were a bit hard and chewy, but that aside not to bad!Dont waste your time with anything else though
Vegetarian dumplings chicken prawn flavour both delicious definitely home made. However pastry was a bit thick (not a deal breaker though). I would like to try steamed next time as the fried dumplings were a bit overcooked. Vego fried rice and garlic broccoli also really great. Fast friendly service. Young crowd. Chang beer! Best service and delicious food.The dumplings are fresh and tasty.I also love the spicy chicken noodle and taiwan braised beef noodle. They are generous with their portions and being reasonally priced is a bonus. Met the lady boss today and she had no airs,just very friendly.
Vegetarian dumplings are so good here and so cheap! Some of the staff can sometimes be a bit rude, but the food is always good and so reasonably priced. Very basic interior

This was one of our regular lunch places. Dumplings are good . Other dish are just so so. Very generous portion in every dish. Service can be rude , be prepared
