1 star review for the overall experience. My girlfriend and I came in after a long flight for something to eat and drink. When asked what kind of wine we wanted. We were given a wine lesson and a sample of another, after answering with exactly what we wanted right away. This was both by our waiter and then again my another member of the staff. When asking about food. We were told that not everything was available but then can make some things. The waiter then verbally listed the whole menu. My wife and I were visiting my son who just moved to Astoria and were looking for a good local restaurant. Yes Chef was fantastic. Most importantly the food was delicious. My son is a vegetarian and he loved the ratatouille taco. Good selection of wines in my opinion. We went with the Redentore Refosco 2013. Service was friendly but not pushy.
This restaurant offers the best of everything. The nostalgic atmosphere and delicious Puerto Rican cuisine are truly something to cherish and enjoy. I almost feel like keeping it a secret, but that would be unfair. The vibes are a perfect 10 out of 10, and the food is a full 100 out of 10. I highly recommend it. I'll definitely be returning!
Wow! The best meal I’ve had in Astoria in a long time I’m a native Astorian. We had the chef special burger the ratatouille tacos. The service is super friendly attentive. The chef serves the food. The ambiance is magical. Thank you Yes Chef!!! I’m looking forward to coming back.

I came across the new owner last year, and since then, the restaurant has introduced a refreshing menu and a wonderful atmosphere. I really enjoy the vibe, and the food is excellent—truly authentic Puerto Rican cuisine!
What an incredible food experience. Every bite is a dance of flavor, every smell is another reminder you want one more bite. Easily the best Spanish food in Astoria. The restaurant is Yes Mama, not Yes Chef.
You definitely have to try the arroz con pollo! Jessica is incredibly friendly, and we had a wonderful time chatting with her while we ate. It’s absolutely worth it, and we’ll definitely be returning!
