I had high hopes that the new ownership would improve this deli, but my recent lunch experience was disappointing. When I ordered my sandwich, the woman preparing it was actually smelling the meat to identify it. I specifically requested Boar's Head chicken, but not the Buffalo flavor, and unfortunately, I still ended up with Buffalo. I had asked for the chicken to be sliced thin, but instead, I received six thick slices. To make matters worse, the roll was stale and crumbled with every bite. The price was also outrageous—$14 for the sandwich and a small bag of chips. I've never written a review before, but I felt the need to share my experience. I called ahead to place an order and arrived just 15 minutes later, only to find that they hadn't even started preparing it. The whole point of calling ahead is to ensure that my order is ready when I arrive. Otherwise, what's the point of offering call-ahead service? I might as well have just ordered once I got there. It was quite frustrating.
I called to see if I could place a delivery order, but the woman who answered was quite rude and abruptly said no before hanging up. It would have been better if she had simply said, "Sorry, we don't deliver," or offered me the option to pick up my order instead of giving a one-word response and ending the call. Overall, it was very disappointing customer service.
My office has been ordering from this deli for years. I must say, ever since it changed owners it has not been Good. The service is slow, the sandwiches and salads lack flavor, the pricing is always different and our orders are always wrong.
