We were driving back from Mt. Rushmore and were very excited to have lunch here. The place is a little run down but with all the good reviews, it didn 't matter. Plus, we feel very strongly about supporting small businesses. My husband and I entered the restaurant and waited for someone to greet us. After a few minutes, a woman came out of the kitchen. I greeted her, nothing. She stood behind the register for a few seconds, nothing. I explained to her that I wasn 't sure if it was okay to seat ourselves and my husband mentioned we weren 't sure how we ordered. If we sat first then ordered or if we ordered first. I'm typically a Ribeye fan because I enjoy my steak juicy, but they didn't have it available, so I decided to try the Sirloin and hoped for the best. WOW! It was fantastic! The steak was 2 inches thick, juicy, and incredibly tender. It was seasoned perfectly and tasted fresh. Absolutely delicious! The coffee was solid (good old-fashioned) and the pies were excellent—there are plenty of options, all made with love right on-site. I highly recommend trying the warmed rhubarb pie with a scoop of ice cream. The staff here are super friendly, too. Oh, and if you enjoy salads, you're in luck! They serve a big bowl filled with lots of tasty ingredients rather than just a lot of lettuce.
What a fantastic discovery! The food was outstanding, and the service was impeccable. We heard that this charming, lovely spot is up for sale and will be closing in the coming months. It would be wonderful if the owners could lease the business or bring in a manager to take over. This quaint restaurant truly deserves to continue operating. Thank you for the delightful dinner!

The beat truck stop I've visited since being OTR thus far. So glad I had the opportunity to stumble upon it with 2 mins left on my 14. Shirley was so nice and accommodating, the food great, and the shower hot...oh, and plentiful free parking. Wish you all the best.
Oh my god. What a gem of a place. We are biking (bicycles) from Wyoming to Maine. The HOME MADE curly fries are fantastic and the blueberry pie with ice Cream and whipped cream we can peddle another 50 miles. craw4awareness.org
It may not look like much from the outside, but if you want a good homestyle meal with great service at a reasonable price, this is the place. You have to try the homemade curly fries!!!
I had the hot beef sandwich (7/10) service is great(9/10), and the curly fries are a site to behold. I'll be trying a burger those curlys on my next go round. My new weekly stop
