We were craving for Korean food in Windsor, so we found this small restaurant serving Japanese-Korean dishes. It was a simple setup, and although other reviewers recommended that we reserved a table, we were seated promptly during lunch time. Honestly I was confused, as the foods were rather disappointing. The LA Galbi was mostly tasteless, missing the charred flavour I look for in my grilled ribs. The Chicken Katsu was okay, though the portion was small for the price (and the large portion of rice accompanying it). Even the grilled mackerel suffered from lack of seasoning. The restaurant has a great location, but unfortunately, the staff is quite rude. I noticed that the larger woman who works in the evenings is quick to tell customers to leave if they inquire about the type of fish that comes with the daily special, which remains a mystery. Yesterday, I witnessed the male owner, who has long hair, block a car on the far side of the parking lot in an attempt to tow it because the driver had chosen to eat at the restaurant right next door. The owner shouted and swore loudly at the young man who came in to apologize, making sure the entire restaurant could hear him.
We ordered the Firecracker Speciality Roll Sushi and Korean Corn Hot Dog, the taste of the food was amazing I must say. But the quantity was so less. When the food came we were surprised to see the quantity of the food. It was the size of 1 roll. The price compared to the food was way way too much. It is not even a fine dine. Excellent sushi especially love their thick cut salmon sashimi. However they forgot to add my Diet Coke and chopsticks in the last order which I paid for so a bit disappointed, but I enjoyed the sushi. It was a delicious meal, I had Bulgogi for the zen combination and the Chicken Karake for the appetizer. Both were flavourful and cooked to perfection.
This is my favorite sushi restaurant. The food is straightforward, quick to prepare, and absolutely delicious.
The Love Salmon Combo is always incredibly fresh and served in generous portions!
