First and last time that I will ever set foot into this nasty restaurant. The food quality was okay. The iPads are filthy and look like they have never been cleaned or disinfected! All of the sashimi and sushi was warm and poor quality (old raw fish is never good). They are also very expensive and a 10% tip is automatically added to your bill (because their service is down right terrible and most people wouldn’t tip them, I guess) ...My concern is more towards the safety and health practices here. You are serving hand prepared raw fish, after all... I sat right by the kitchen so I could watch Them carefully. One of the servers was really sick and she kept coughing in the air without covering...
Let’s get one thing straight the food is okay and some of it is better than ok. This is not about the food. The service is absolutely awful and if you are the owner of this place my advice is to get that sorted out immediately or it is going to close your doors. This place should be a little gold mine but your staff are ruining the chances of it ever being so. We were shown to our seats and didn’t even get our coats off before being asked if we wanted drinks never mind sit down. Some plates were thrown on table, my wife asked for forks etc and the waitress stormed off returning to throw them on table too. We ordered and everything was just thrown at us, no conversation no recognition just a...
Sushi is not great here. In their maki rolls they use huge amounts of rice and small portions of actual fish. I can only assume this is a tactic to fill you so you don't order more on the AYCE menu. The rice itself seems to always be overcooked as well. I have to say that some of the other items on their menu are good. But that still doesn't make up for the horrible service... server's look unhappy to be there and are not considerate to customer needs. They also add a 10% service charge to the bill so watch out for that.
we've been to Akita several times because the food is good, on the other hand, the service is the worst. Not one of the servers EVER smile, barely spoke english, and drop your food on the table. The last time i was there, the manager guy came over to my table to tell my husband and I to stop ordering intermittently and order all at once, the waitress didn't like walking back and forth. They desperately need training for their servers, or get friendlier ones
We have given this place a few chances to redeem themselves I will never go back after the last experience food was not fresh servers do not speak English cannot communicate with you just a mess and they add a 10% service fee which is their gratuity without telling you so if you do leave a tip you are triple tipping or double tipping at least. When I asked what the service fee was for they said it's their tip because WE people do not tip them!
This restaurant offers all you can eat for dine in or take out.We normally take out and usually order a combo part tray for variety cost usually about $45-$50.Food has been delicious and delivered in good time usually while we wait so 10-15 minutes.Orders made fresh while you wait.A good medium size restaurant with lots of parking in a new mall.I recommend for sushi if in East Gwillumbury.3.5 5 stars.PH
I usually come for lunch with my friend! This place has come along way from before it caught on fire. After they Reno’d it, good was much better. Service is hit and miss. Mostly they look unhappy to be there and not too friendly.. but good is very good and it’s very fast! I would just say that if their service and staff were friendlier, I’d make a better review
Hadn’t been for several months and was very disappointed in the quality of some of the rolls. They were either so thick with rice coating they were unappealing, or so loosely wrapped they fell apart. Snow mountain, a favourite, was dry and bland. This restaurant used to be a family favourite but, it is no longer. Too bad.
Good sushi, fair price clean location. Service is really sub par every time we go here whether just the attitude or the reliability of getting what you ordered
