Well, maybe calling it a day trip is a bit of an exaggeration - we simply enjoyed some food, wandered around a few shops, grabbed a coffee, bought some cheese, and then headed back home. Hadn’t realised that Allium had changed hands and lost, it’s very wonderful, Michelin starred chef, Chris Staines a few months ago. That does explain the slightly below par food and slower service. Such a shame as we have always enjoyed fabulous dining experiences there in the past. We waited 20 minutes in the bar for our drinks order to arrive it wasn't overly busy, although I appreciate the bar was dealing with outside guests restaurant drinks orders but that's a regular Saturday night in Bath. Not mad on the new restaurant decor and furniture looks a bit down market from what was there before disappointing.
Last weekend, we took a day trip to Bath. While our day trip may have been a bit ordinary, consisting of eating, shopping, drinking coffee, buying cheese, and heading back home, the highlight was dining at Chris Staines' restaurant, Allium Brasserie. The Sunday roast at this restaurant was quite good and offered great value. Both the pork and beef were delicious, but I preferred the pork. The meat was cooked perfectly and was very tender, served with traditional sides like potatoes and carrots. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with high quality paintings and sculptures, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. Overall, it was a beautiful meal in a very enjoyable setting!

We had a wonderful time. Great for catching up. The staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel is superbly located with an exciting collection of art. We were very happy with the choice of food on the menu. It was a wonderful evening. The bar staff even helped us charge our phones later on in the evening. Well worth a visit!
The food and service were excellent. However, the restaurant is currently going through some changes, and the menus could use a bit more creativity. Additionally, the restrooms were untidy and not cleaned frequently enough, which is concerning.
Absolutely exquisite food in a tranquil setting. We were impressed by the fresh ingredients, vivid colors, and imaginative presentation. Our two course meal for two with wine was 57 GBP so it was a super value as well. Highly recommend.
Food not as good as it appeared on the website. Service slow. However staff are very friendly and they have a separate menu for people who have food allergies/eating disorders.

Disappointed overall staff are friendly but still learning the job; food was okay had expected better given write ups. Overall a 2 star rating.
