We visited for the first time by chance, one Sunday lunchtime in mid October with French friends to celebrate a birthday. We had visited Les Glycines together a couple of year's ago, and were very impressed, and it is quite clear that the high standard of cuisine replicates that of its sister/brother restaurant. The set meal was reasonably priced for the quality of food produced, and we all left extremely well satisfied - in more ways than one! The seafood ravioli starter was excellent, as was the veal main course, and we all shared bits of the 4 desserts that we had selected. but don't get excited by these dishes as the menu changes according to the time of year. We booked a table for outside by the river on a lovely summers evening. Location is nice, and the waitress spoke good English (useful since my French is poor) . My daughter had the standard steak and chips, which even though we ask for it to be served with our mains, came before our starters. The food was tasty and well presented. But the service was slow and the bill was muddle - Actually under charged)You need to make a reservation, even though there are empty tables. Had the feeling the staff were over stretched. Overall not an unpleasant experience, and would probable go back.
We had an evening meal here while holidaying at a villa nearby. Recommended by the owners of our villa. We were not disappointed. Our waiter was Pierre, who spoke perfect English, and was very polite, courteous and helpful. The food was wonderful and very reasonably priced for the standard. It is right by the River Charente so lovely views. There is a segregated swimming area in the river alongside the restaurant, a children's park with sand. All in all - a very picturesque setting. Loved it!
The location on the river is certainly one of the most attractive aspects of this restaurant, but the food is also excellent. Had lunch on a Sunday, often a difficult day to find a good restaurant as loads are shut, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My pintade was beautifully moist and served with lots of fresh vegetables. We both had the famed Grand Marnier soufflé which was yummy. Service was efficient and friendly. A lovely restaurant. Would unconditionally recommend.

We visited this restaurant under the old owners and we less than impressed but now under the same ownership as Auberge des Glycines things have changed. first class meal with great service and at a reasonable cost. Great atmosphere outside as the night goes on with great views across the Charente. Grand Marnier souffle is an absolute MUST to finish on. First Class.
We visited the restaurant yesterday evening and weren't disappointed. Starters sublime and main courses good. Only negative was my wife's 'pintade supreme' wasn't a whole breast but fashioned pieces. Local wines good value. Service wasn't an issue but very much a thin red line. Setting sublime and shaded on a very hot evening. We will return.
The place to dine when visiting Port d'Envaux. This is an excellent place to eat. Incredible service and very good. The food was very extraordinary and service is very high quality, very reasonable price and excellent dinning experience... Enjoyed it very much!
The food was ok, we has lamb but could not tell it was lamb, very disappointed. Snail soufflé was good but so much garlic. Desert was the best. Bottle of rose was very expensive, stick with the local pitcher.

Excellent menu and a great location overlooking the river. A tranquil spot which offers excellent value for money, good service and imaginative food based on local produce
The set menu was superb offering both fish and meat, the view of the river and was lovely and inside was tastefully decorated
