This is a good place to have an early dinner, while you are waiting for your next ferry to Powell River!!We relied on Yelp to browse on the web for a good eatery in the Comox/Courtney area, for an early dinner, at 5:00 p.m., before our 7:30 p.m. ferry and have found out that many restaurants in the vicinity were closed until 5:30 p.m. But this place stayed open all day!What was more wonderful was that it was shown on their front door glass panel that for several years, since year 2013, they have been awarded the award of excellence by TripAdvisor, our trusted travel advisory website.They really lives up to all the good words said about them.The quality of food is very good and fresh....the c...
Review would of been better but over 45 mins between ordering and receiving lunch. Other patrons seated well after us, had lunch and were paying when we got served. It was not busy nor did we order anything out of mainstream, 3 of us. The waitress was embarrassed and did apologies.On the plus side, food is quite good, and very good curried carrot soup, Ceaser Salad is good but maybe too much anchovies in dressing, not sure, it tasted a little fishy for my taste.Decor is nice, nothing special. We have been there before and had far better service, so maybe this was just a bad day, but it will be awhile before we return.
This is a buzzy restaurant serving good food, well presented and with good service. We were there on a busy Saturday, with little time to spare between arriving and needing to be elsewhere. The waitress clued in very quickly to our needs and despite the usual difficulties of getting a large party to place their orders we were well fed and watered with a few minutes to spare.Next time we're in Comox we'll go again and linger over food that deserved better diners.
Best dinner we've had in months. Our waiter Simone knew his job, was friendly without intruding, offered good suggestions on wine and food, and then stepped back to allow us to enjoy our evening. Great menu created by new chef, well worth the drive and the bill seemed reasonable given quality, very generous sized servings...this is one of my pet peeves, eating out but being left hungry. After a terribly disappointing dinner earlier in the week at a restaurant overlooking the marina, we were relieved to find a delicious dinner in Comox. Started with the oysters, so fresh and perfect. Had the nice flight of wine to try different local choices. Thai mussels, salmon salad, risotto.....everything was right on. Portions were generous. Now this is more like it. Whew!
My wife and I went for dinner recently and had a great experience. The service, servers suggestions, quality of food and ambiance was fabulous. We opted for something different for our dinners. We shared three appetizers and one main entree. The waitress and my wife convinced us to share a dessert . .. .
Great atmosphere, great food and first class service everything you need for an enjoyable lunchron experience.The menue is innovative and inviting with the Black Bean Tacos, Roasted Beet + Spinach Salad {(both withgoat cheese) and Avenue Clubhouse definitely delicious highlights.

You are never disappointed while having a meal at Avenue Bistro. The menu is very varied and will please any taste and the sticky pouding dessert is to die for!
