We stayed at the Cheshire hotel and were fortunate to have Basso on the premises! We met a friend here the first night of our stay. The restaurant is in the basement. The atmosphere was inviting with gas lit wall lights, a center bar with booths and high tops. Autumn was a wonderful server. She was so pleasant and informative. We really enjoyed having her as our server. Happy hour is from 4 to 6. We tried the fried meatballs, which were great. The lemon ravioli and the shrimp pasta dish were both delicious. We arrived without a reservation. We had 10 in our party. They were holding two tables that could have accommodated us for reservations that were two hours away. I get it, if they sat us there's no guarantee that we would have been finished, but they lost out on a huge ticket.
I have recommended this restaurant to over 20 people, and all of them have returned multiple times. It's located in the basement next to Cheshire Inn, but it has a great atmosphere and consistently serves high-quality food.

Always have a great meal and time at Basso. Happy hour drinks are the way to do it. I've had several pasta dishes and all were great.
Our server Autumn was amazing. Would recommend getting on the wait list ahead of time, but the service and food is worth the wait.
