Given my passion for microbrewers and craft beer, this place has been on my list to try for a while. It was a dark grey, cold February, with a storm on the way and I was looking for some HRM-hygge. The Nano brewery tap takeover- where a bunch of the smaller NS breweries like one step up from home brewing) got to showcase their wares- seemed like a good time to try. Located on a lively street, this restaurant and bar is a fun spot to hang out. While we mainly stayed in the bar area, there is a restaurant section and a deck in the back. Note that it may not be the best place for young children due to the lack of booster seats, but if you bring your own, you should be fine. The food was quite good - we tried a fried fish sandwich, similar to fish and chips but on a bun with peas and curry toppings, and a donair burger, a donair on a hamburger bun. This restaurant never fails to impress. Their fried chicken sandwich is the best in the city, absolutely delicious! The cheese, charcuterie, and other board options are perfect for sharing with so many different flavors to enjoy. The beer selection is top-notch, with great care taken in cleanliness and variety. The patio is a cool spot to hang out in the summer. Battery Park has won a place in my heart - I highly recommend it for a chill evening with great food and drinks. For tourists, make sure to visit Battery Park across the harbor for an even better experience than Stubborn Goat.
This was my first time at this restaurant and I found the food and atmosphere to be very good. However, the service was not great. It was clear that our server, Sam, had no interest in serving a gay couple. We felt ignored while the straight couple sitting next to us received better attention. When the bill was thrown at us after paying, it confirmed our decision that we would not be returning.
Mm battery park! I've been many times never disappointed. Their juggead burgers are so tasty, chicken burger even better! I've had their green beans for an appetizer let me tell ya.. Me and my friend decided to have a water front picnic. We got fish tacos and fries. A huge portion, super filling. The fries were cooked so well, and exactly the kind of fries you'd want to eat with fish tacos. The tacos were everything I wanted them to be.Damn it now I'm craving fish tacos again so guess I'll be coming back soon. You gotta try them
We came for the mussels (which sounded delicious from an old menu we found), but we were told that they had to reduce the menu due to COVID. While we didn't try any food, we did try a flight of some of Nova Scotia's local beers. Highly recommended to all beer lovers!
Great food and Great servers. Recommend the classic burger. Yummy the server we had was super friendly and helpful. Don't know her name but very good server. The patio was a great place eat with a great atmosphere and music.
charging $17 for a 8.5 oz glass of wine is ridiculous. $12 maybe.... most expensive I have seen. it's not like we are dining at a 5 star restaurant. No I did not have the wine.
