I'm someone that's a spice wuss, and I got BURNED at Big's today. Whatever sauce they put on their jerk sandwich was enough to make my nose run, my eyes water, my mouth to burn, my ability to taste got demolished, and me to drink 64 oz of tea after one bite! I had to de-construct my huge sandwich it was so large you couldn't fit it in your mouth fully assembled) scrape off the hot sauce from what I could avoid the parts of the sandwich too saturated in the sauce. Iended up eating only about half of the contents of the sandwich. The black eyed peas I chose as a side were swimming in oil. It's enough to do one of those Gordon Ramsey Kitchen Nightmare style dramatic oil pour outs! meaning exces...
The Big Family Meal is always a great choice, whether you have a large family or not. The chicken is juicy and flavorful, the salad is packed with good ingredients, and the ranch dressing is tangy and delicious. All the side dishes are excellent, but my favorites are the fried broccoli with pimento cheese and the black eyed pea salad. After enjoying a generous dinner, my companion and I like to mix the leftover salad and black eyed peas, and cut up the chicken breasts for a satisfying lunch the next day. The fried broccoli is always a hit and disappears quickly!
Bigs is AWESOME! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The chicken was perfection. Honestly, everything was perfection. I?ve had plenty of fried chicken in my life and this is one of the best I ever had. The fried Mac and cheese was crispy as well and not soggy at all. The covered Jojos had a great flavor to them. We were just there on Saturday and plan to go back this weekend as well. This will be a regular stop for us when in Portland I?m sure. I just wish I livedcloser! I would spend way too much time and money here.
Hello my foodie peeps! I just tried this place for lunch and it was so good! A friendly laid-back atmosphere didn't have time to eat there but enjoyed it on the take -out end. I'll definitely be back if I'm near the area working. I had their burger and their black eyed peas. Delicious! The large family meal offered a generous amount of food. The crispy chicken was delicious and well-seasoned. The corn fritters were okay, but the mac and cheese bites were absolutely fantastic! If you enjoy dips, be sure to order all of them. However, the standout dish was the fried broccoli, which was a hit with the kids.
Juicy and tender chicken grilled to perfection. The ones I ordered came with potatoes and salad. Would love to come back there and try more food. Staffs are nice. Both inside and outside seatings available. Perfect place to get lunch.
Had the burger, interesting flavors that went really well together and we're surprisingly mouth watering. Cajun feeling to everything, atmosphere gives you a lot to look at, friendly waitstaff
