I was expecting better quality and selection, perhaps I showed up on the wrong day. Selection included mainly sweets like brownies, bars, cookies and then a few quiches and packed biscuits and meringues. I showed up initially hoping they had croissants but since they didn't, I opted for the coffee cake. It was a very simple sponge with a thin layer of cinnamon crumble on top, around 3x3x2 inches in size, so I was surprised that it was $4 for something so simple. The quality wasn't bad just basic and not worth the price. Glad I came in to finally try but don't think I'll return because the prices are too high compared to other local boulangeries.

The best bakery in Montreal! Everything is made on-site, and you can find a variety of all-natural, organic breads such as 100% whole wheat, sun-dried tomato, kalamata olive, purple walnut, pumpernickel, and sunflower flax, just to name a few. They also offer delicious croissants and chocolatines, as well as a selection of sandwiches, salads, cookies, pies, cupcakes, custom cakes, cake pops, their famous squares, and so much more. This family-owned business, The Friedman Sisters, will make you feel like you are part of their family.
Had lunch next door over the weekend and thought this bakery looked promising. I tried the lemon square (husband tried the coffee cake) and boy were we disappointed. I’ve never eaten a lemon square that had absolutely no lemon flavour to it at all. It was actually tasteless and the shortbread crust was dry. Partner didn’t like the coffee cake either. The best date squares I’ve ever had! I really wish we had bought more. My daughter, who has allergies, absolutely loved it and devoured them in no time. We’re definitely planning a trip back to get more! The owners, Robyn and Tawn, are truly fantastic!
The olive oil bread was outstanding! Led Zeppelin would definitely approve of it! Olive, my dear, my love for you is as strong as my appreciation for this bread.
The olive sourdough bread has always been fantastic here, but during my first visit to the new location, I believe I've tasted the best quiche I've ever had!
