The ONLY Reason I'm leaving a Review is because the Owner Hyped the food up SO MUCH as if EVERYTHING was going to be AMAZING and I'm sorry it just was NOT AT ALL ??. I ordered the Shrimp Bowl and a side of String Beans. 1st the String Beans was TOO Salty and had too much garlic on them for such a Small Portion. 2nd The Shrimp was MID and whatever sauce they added on the Rice was DISGUSTING and that Rice was TOO MUSHY. I can't remember the Last time I had SOGGY Rice ???. Though the Owner seems Sweet and Genuine, I'll never go back. One and DONE! The Food is OVER PRICED AND UNDER DELIVERED. Sorry!
I’ve eaten inside and ordered delivery. The quality of soulll food at Bradford’s Barr is top notch. The stuffed shrimp, salmon, wings, waffles, tootsie bread, broccoli, mac n cheese, drink and everything is BUSSIN (that’s Ebonics for delicious/ out of this world). The food is great and I honestly can’t wait to invite more people. Also the owner is amazing too! Such a sweetheart. Best American south soul food in New Jersey! Kid-friendliness: The owner was so sweet with my children!
The minute you walk in you smell the aroma of amazing cooking in the kitchen. The customer service was phenomenal. The owner is very down to earth and even took a moment to greet me. That is a great example of serving others andthis is proof she loves what she does.... providing food for the soul! My food was very flavorful. It is truly a hidden gem in the Maplewood area. Looking forward to returning for a great dining experience.
Not your standard “soul food”. The Short Ribs were fall off the bone tender, cabbage was fresh and crispy , yams were delicious just cut a little too small). Turkey wings were well seasoned and tender no gravy/ rice). Again, not your average soul food. Shrimp fettuccine with a bit dry but good flavor needed more sauce)Shrimp were cooked to perfection. Mac cheese needed more cheese

I ate at Cornbread next door, which was very nice. Then I walked a few doors down and had to order an entree based on the smell alone. , The food at Bradfords was SLAMM'N!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The peach cobbler will hv you out here doing strange things just for a bite!!!!! The corn bread was also amazing!
She was sweet and very welcoming. The food was HITTING!! I got the lobster and shrimp fettuccine, my friend got the fried chicken and Mac. We both loved our food!!!Accommodated to me coming in late and still gave us great service.
Just too salty especially the broccoli and salmon it’s a ok spot but still wouldn’t recommend it , this will be my first last . The entire restaurant needs a deep clean .
Cozy little spot, and I mean little. But the food is amazing! The owner is so nice. It's like going to eat at your cousin's house. We had the fish and grits. Soooo good.
