Brick Lane Curry House Upper Montclair

I had a truly authentic Indian dining experience at this restaurant in New Jersey! I have been trying Indian food all over North America, England/Scotland, and Switzerland for the past 30 years. If you can't make it to London for curry, this place offers a similar experience! The staff, including Shubha, Teja, and Hashwanth, were excellent and timed our meal perfectly. Thank you! We will definitely be returning with a larger group of friends to share this experience.

This has been a favorite of ours since we moved to town 2 years ago but the last two times we’ve ordered, we’ve noticed a huge change in the quality. The chicken is now mixed/dark meat for the appetizers and mains a big change from the all white meat that used to come standard with every meal. The meat is gamey and there’s no option to select just white meat. A bummer because we’ll be taking it out of our regular rotation…

I used to love this restaurant, but sadly it has gone down hill over the last year or so. Last week we had a chicken curry from here it tasted as though the chicken was added to the sauce at the last moment, the chicken was bland and mushy. The prices are high for the poor quality and portion size of the food.

It’s not just good, it’s London level good. The staff are super friendly to our toddler.
