I was thrilled to see a Brownies Chicken open in our neighborhood, as it brought back childhood memories. I was excited to try it out and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of menu options. I decided to order the chicken and waffles for 7.99. The dish was made to order, and I had to wait for the waffles to be cooked. The meal included two boneless chicken strips that were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I typically don't enjoy white meat, but this chicken was so tender and juicy that I was quite impressed. The sweet and salty combination of the dish really appealed to me. I was very excited to try this restaurant, especially after learning that the owners were the same as the former Jo Blows, known for their amazing fish and chips. Brownies now specializes in fried chicken and fries, with everything else taking a backseat. Their chicken is delicious and their fries are excellent. However, I was disappointed by the cod, which was not as flavorful as it used to be at their former restaurant. The sides were also not very impressive. We tried the deep fried pickles and popcorn shrimp, which were only average. I recommend coming here specifically for the chicken and fries, as they are some of the best.
My friend and I were craving fish and chips and I remembered that someone had said they do fish here so we tried it. We went in to order and it was a steady stream of people coming to order and pick up their orders and this was on a Wednesday. We bother ordered the 1 piece cod with the Cajun fries and my friend also ordered 2 pieces of chicken. We took it home and the fish was so flaky and not greasy and there were a ton of fries in the box. They had given up and extra piece of chicken which he said was a little greasy but very good. We will be ordering from here again.
My wife and I stumbled upon a new southern fried chicken restaurant on Dewdney Trunk Road near 228th Street last night. We decided to give it a try and we're so glad we did. The place was spotlessly clean and had a wide variety of options. It just opened in January and I know I'll be returning for their delicious fried chicken. The seating is limited, so takeout is the main idea. With a full menu available, I highly recommend checking it out. It's located in a large parking lot at 22899 Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge.
We have had takeout here a few times and was never disappointed until yesterday. The coleslaw was so wet it was almost a soup...we strained it at home. The chicken pieces were not the usual cuts...hard to identify in fact as to what was what. And lastly the chicken was barely cooked. THIS IS VERY UNUSUAL for this restaurant. If this had been my first time I would have given a 1 or 2 star rating but since we have had good food and service here many times i give it 3 stars this time. Everyone can have a bad day.
We came here last night and ordered some tasty boneless chicken tenders with onion rings. The staff member got our order was ready in a timely fashion, so we went with the takeout. We had a tasty enjoyable meal at home at a fair price point.
This is the place to go for deep fried chicken and all the fixings. We enjoy the salads, the chicken and the fries. Better than the competitors...in our opinion. Large chicken pieces and isn't as greasy.
Love the tasty boneless chicken with some onion rings, which we had for dinner last night. Staff are always efficient and friendly, usually go for takeout orders.
Serving sizes are big! The food was great. The gravy was alright. Deep fried pickles delicious. The staff were very nice!
