(January 2017) went with a group and we sat on the enclosed patio, which is really nice- gives you the feeling like you are outside without being exposed to the elements, and there are blankets if you're really cold. I had the dragon bowl this time and it was good tasting but something i could likely make at home. Almost $20 with tax and tip. I had water. Love this place it is a happening place right in the core or the new Uptown Shopping Centre which makes me feel like I'm not even at home. With a well setup all weather exterior patio you can always eat alfresco. The staff is great only to be outdone by the food, for breakfast, lunch or an after work refreshment with your colleagues it's always good. It has lots to choose from and all fresh good quality, so far haven't found anything I haven't enjoyed. Have to try it for dinner. Cheers.
You can always find food items that are somewhat healthy in Brown's menu. My tuna bowl was delicious with the seared tuna and the almond rice was flavourful. I did have room for dessert at the end, though, and shared the chocolate brownie. As suggested by the menu, the brownie is definitely something that can be shared as it was too much for one. It was a nice balance between cold ice cream and warm cake.
Stopped into Browns Socialhouse for an early dinner on a Sunday evening. Enjoyed a really nice dinner on the lounge side of the restaurant. Host was welcoming upon arrival and we were seated immediately. We enjoyed the chips with salsa/guacamole and a nice bottle of red wine to start and followed up with our mains. Server, atmosphere and food were great! Will definitely be back again.
Enjoyed a great meal at Browns Social-house. Great location to the beautiful Royal Theatre and convenient parking in nearby Public parkade off Broughton. I had the Fish Tacos which were excellent. And special thanks to our young server who had such a lovely “can do” attitude! Fabulous evening in beautiful Victoria!
If you’re coming off of the galloping goose and heading to uptown, Brown’s is right there, the staff is lovely, and the food is filling! It has a lovely atmosphere and warm rustic feel. The outdoor patio is heated and is nice even in the colder months. Definitely recommend for lunch and dinner!
It is my second time at this Restaurant. The atmosphere is nice, and the team here is always nice and kind. The food was ok, we order steak, and pasta Alfredo. The steak was ok, a little bit overcoked, and the pasta was regular. We love the fries!
Always great food! Service and food quality is always consistent. You can order the same thing every time and it will always be great. Consistency is key in the kitchen. And the jalapeño margarita is the best drink ever.
Great location and wonderful patio area. Service was great the sever was very attentive and took great care of us. Lots of menu choices. The food was wonderful.
