Wow, this should be called 'gumtree republic', a distinct lack of latin flavour. Our taco plate came served in cold taco shells, the spinach seemed to have mysteriously disappeared from the 'potato/spinach' enchilada and I can only assume that an apprentice was in the kitchen, I mean what good excuse is there for service raw rice?! If this food was any less Hispanic it'd be campaigning for Donald Trump. The 1 star rating was only given due to the beer, it was great, I highly recommend coming here for beer and location, just give the food a miss.
We had lunch here and it was so bad. No flavour in the burrito at all and my partner was asked if we wanted salsa on his dish (obviously and extra charge) - when it came out it was a plastic dish the size of a 50 cent piece. The tomatoes where old (obviously made yesterday or the day before). I am so disappointed with all the food at Southbank. It's all so average and no one seems to care anymore???

Tried cactus republic one night when we had a hankering for Mexican food. Ordered the vegetarian nachos and the gold margarita. They are not lying when they say the margarita is big. Unfortunately I couldn't say the same about the nachos. While it was nice, it really wasn't anything special.

Been here a couple of times and I have enjoyed their burritos and quesadillas which are quite good. Excellent location right in the heart of Southbank, so a great place to end up after a nice, relaxing walk or before/after a movie. Prices and portion sizes are reasonable.
Really good fresh mexican food with a twist of there own and not plastered with cheese,we had tacos and nachos and very impressed with both meals. Wait staff were pretty average with no attention to customers once ordered and seated but food was worth it.
Dined here for Sunday lunch w friends. I ordered a good value for price corn fritter stack which tasted good - could have used a little more salsa. My husband ordered a naked burrito and was below average. You're better off going to Guzman Y Gomez!
Really nice simple Mexican place, ordered the small chilli con carne nachos for just $10, serving size was generous and rather tasty. Definitely worth a visit if you're after a quick and reasonably priced mexican meal at Southbank!

I thoroughly enjoy this Mexican every time we eat there. It is nice having a fresh sense of food and reasonable price. I love the vege nachos!

Nachos was fresh but needed real cheese to melted into the corn chips.....cheese shouldn't be squeezed on!
