Looking for a place to have lunch we stumbled upon this place, which looked like an average cafe with a typical menu. At first we were preparing ourselves for a long wait, because only one waiter seemed to serve a busy terrace. However, he was surprisingly efficient and brought menus with explanation and even translation. The drinks and food were also brought fairly quickly and the beef was excellent. I had it blue, and it was really nice. If course, it isn't a Michelin star restaurant or anything close to it, but for a cafe at the corner it was surprisingly good, especially considering the reasonable prices. With a friendly waiter the fine lunch experience was complete.
We stumbled across this place while wandering around Chinon looking for somewhere to eat, and I'm very glad we chose this place because, based on our experience, I would definitely return for a meal if I was ever in Chinon again. There is an excellent range of lunch options on the menu, from hot and cold salads to omelettes, quiches and baguettes (I was quite envious of my sister's flammkuche). The prices are all very reasonable - nearly everything cost €8 or €9, and nothing at all exceeded €10. The wine is also very nice (as one would expect, this being Chinon), and the atmosphere feels very authentically French, the very opposite of a tourist trap.
A family run business and a very pleasant place to eat alongside the town square catering for indoors and outdoors, in sun or in shade. A three course lunch at a very reasonable 15 Euros not including wine which can be bought by the pitcher. Very good meal and much enjoyed the atmosphere. Good service.
placed in a living place of chinon, this brewery is particularly pleasant. very friendly welcome, simple and very correct dishes, without forgetting a good choice of Chinon wines at a sweet price. for us, a must-see during our stays.

wat een gezellige bediening, en dat is wat waard ! lekker gegeten, een hele goede rode Chinon en gelijk nog even Franse les gehad. heerlijk om daar op het terras te zitten !

It is good food and nice service, easy to reach at Chinon. It is a choice when you are late with lunch!
