Randomly selected the restaurant looking for somewhere new to try in Clayton. Was not aware that the restaurant was inside the Le Meridian hotel rather than a stand-alone. May have explained why only four tables occupied at 6pm on a Friday night. Limited menu but dining room has a very modern decor with large bar, bright lighting, televisions and appropriate background music. Probably a great place for a business lunch, but not if you're looking for a dimly lit date night location. Our server/bartender Niko was very pleasant. Our server and bartender, Niko, was very friendly, though asking us to leave his tip in cash felt a bit inappropriate. Given the apparent lack of customers, we decided to skip the seafood special that wasn’t on the menu and opted for a burger and a chicken salad croissant instead. Both dishes were quite tasty. The fries were hot, and the burger was cooked to the right temperature, but it took an unusually long time for our food to come from the kitchen.
Parking was convenient in the hotel’s garage, and we had it validated at the Front Desk. I would consider returning, but only if I were staying at the hotel.
Our entire experience was amazing at Cafe la Vie. We typically don’t write reviews however, my wife and I are from Kansas City and were appalled by the service we received on 10/27/23. Not to mention we came in right at closing time and the manger..I think his name was Elijah, even reopened the bar to accommodate our stay. We will be back!
We stopped by for lunch after our spa day, and Shay was incredibly helpful in guiding our order. We tried the salmon sandwich, baked Brie, stone fruit salad, and fries, and everything was fresh and delicious. The art deco decor added a fun touch to the atmosphere!

Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the drink and food menu and made phenomenal recommendations that my date and I both enjoyed. The decor is modern and clean, and the space was very welcoming all around. I'll definitely visit La Vie again.
this place is fantastic! eating was great. the best French tweebel soup we had in France for many occasions. our server,Ray was great! the dessert was incredible! you have to go to the cafe!
Everything was bad! The food, service, the table was dirty, there were pills on the floor under my chair. Not sure how you mess up orange juice but they found a way to do that! Never again!
Enjoyed our dinner, great burger, cassoulet and pork belly app were delightful. Onion soup ranks pretty high too.
