that was one of my stops when I wanted a respectable steak dinner on my frequent trips to our sailing boat in grand rivers. I'm pretty picky when it comes to steak, and it's hard to find a decent one in this part of ky, they believe me, I've tried a lot of them and these people get it right. at our last visit they were in an expected form because my steak was very good, fed and cooked exactly as I like it. I have tried some of their seafood samples, but living on the coast of ma and now on the golf of mexiko it is very hard to find large seafood because it is simply not so fresh from the boots taste they get used to. However, their crab bite app is not bad at all. my shat eats not much steak...
large steaks, from sirloin to filet, but the ribeyes are where they, especially the large 20oz ribeye, if they have a serious demand for good steak. the menu is loaded with delicious appetizers like the bbq nachos and good ole fried pickles. they can also not go wrong with a bbq pork sandwich or just over one of their big burgers. they love the restaurant itself, its well maintained old room, good for a quiet dinner or a meeting of friend/family. they have a cool bar area, which is large on kentucky bourbons, and has a good choice of craft beer, two boxes that I like to check on my restaurant hunting. friendly attentive staff, free wlan, tvs in the bar. to grab a very solid space...read more
I'm going to start by saying that we had a party of 8 which the restaurant accommodated (we had made a reservation) without a problem. 8 is a lot of people to try and get food out to at the same time. Also, our waitress told is she was new. We loved the ambience of this restaurant. It's just a cool building. We did have issues with none of the ordered steaks being cooked as ordered and the side dishes were cold and had to be reheated. For the price I expected better food and that was disappointing. I would we willing to try this restaurant again with maybe less people in our group I guess. I gave 3 stars....
not very impressed. we asked for a few minutes to watch over the menu and 15 minutes or more before we were waiting. then it took 45 minutes to get our appetizers. my son and I ordered both salates as our meal and my salat was filled with huge hard pieces of iceberg salat that became brown. my son asked for a refill of his sweet tees and ended with a mix of tee and soda. for the price of eating I don't feel acceptable. as a cook itself, I can't see how someone can be served this salad.
