I recently visited this restaurant to celebrate my parents' anniversary, and it was our first time dining here. The evening was nothing short of wonderful, thanks to the excellent food and exceptional service. The dishes were some of the best I've had in Wilmington, with each bite better than the last. Had fantastic b-day dinner at Catch Restaurant with Chef Keith Rhodes. Along with the best food and service, we could ask for. I wish I had more pics, but we were just having too much fun with our friends, and the wonderful staff. We had a beautiful appetizer of yellow tomatoes, fresh peaches, grape tomatoes, and burrata with pesto and pistachios. Next was some delicious fried okra fingers, and some amazing sticky ribs. Comforting shrimp and grits that had a great smokey bacon flavor, seared tuna cooked to perfection with wasabi mashed potatoes, a warm sweet potato salad with fresh strawberries. Visiting from Raleigh, celebrating our anniversary and traveling sans kids for the first time ever 10yrs) — dined here several years ago with a large birthday party, and had a great experience. Looked forward to a repeat. Server was pleasant, good knowledge of the menu and drinks. Ordered two specialty cocktails which were excellent — margarita and smoked old fashioned. Came quickly. Overall I'd say restaurant was slow... one couple at the bar and roughly 6 tables — including one large party ~15 ppl). This was my 2nd visit to Catch. I arrived ahead of our party of 21 and sat beside a couple at the bar for a cocktail. The couple had eaten at Catch the night before and came back for a second visit. WOW! Our tall, slender male server was outstanding, as were all the servers. A large party arriving at 7:30pm on a Saturday night is no small feat. From the warm greeting received upon arrival, to the flawless cocktails and bar service, to the freshest and perfectly seasoned entrees (salmon, pork chop, lobster, chicken, fried seafood, and swordfish), Catch Restaurant is a memorable treasure. Maybe I had too high expectations with everyone's recommendations loving it. I thought it was good and just okay .my ticket was $518 for six people drinks appetizers entrees. Was ready to spend a high dollar amount for some amazing food. But it just didn't amaze us. The wait staff was attentive but almost made the place seem hectic... Give it a try a lot of people love it. As for us we probably won't go back.
Although we enjoyed our experience, we felt like it was not their usual service. We had three different people waiting on us. The bread is always a treat last night there was none. Part of our table was served about ten minutes before the rest which was awkward. The food was great as always, so we will be back.
Perfect upscale seafood restaurant. Great service, perfectly prepared seafood. 10 out of 10. In an effort to support black chefs and black businesses I purposely chose this restaurant and so happy I did.
