The host was kind but very awkward with how she responded but we sat down quickly. The restaurant was very modern and clean. The waiter was a bit rude in responses and thought it was funny to make a smart remark regarding my daughter's mac and cheese request. The food was pretty good and the steak has a nice taste and texture. The attention to our drinks being empty was very low and so I had to keep chasing the waiter for refills and believe it or not, for my check. Regardless, we tipped well as we believe everyone has their days BUT as for us, we will not be returning. The cost vs the service provided is not worth my money here.
First visit to Char. Heard it was a casual dressy place, upscale, so I went in a dress and heels. We ended up sitting in front of the T.V in the bar area listening to a baseball game blasting. In the Bar area with a game on. !!!!! Seriously??! We had reservations but she wouldn’t move us to the back. High prices, small portions, and lots of noise. We had a great time at Char. The staff was fantastic and the service was excellent. The food was cooked perfectly for our group of 4. Everyone's steaks were cooked just right, and the lobster tails were delicious. This was our second visit to Char and we will definitely be back again. Don't miss out on trying Char - you won't be disappointed!
Meat potatoes was delicious as it always is, the braised short ribs are incredibly tender. The shrimp scampi was horrible. I apos;ve never had scampi without pasta, risotto or some sort of bed for the shrimp. The fact that it was a bed of spinach shrimp with nothing else made it hard to finish. Only ate the shrimp

I don't leave reviews very often, but this meal deserves one... First time here. Late dinner on a Tuesday night. I was blown away by the dry aged ribeye. Very unique, excellent flavor. Our server, Steve, was fantastic. On point throughout and great conversation! Will be coming back again soon.

Char Steak house is the best in the area. Best quality steak, service and ambience. have tried all steakhouses in morris and somerset counties and have found this to be best. Complimentary valet parking on mothers day was a bonus add on.

What does it take to actually receive bacon? Ive paid for it twice and havent received it at all. Filet was medium not rare as ordered. Potato gratin was dark and dry. Only one was fresh. Very disappointing.
The food was good and so was the service. The back room with the windows is very loud. Could use some acoustic treating and dampening.
