We went to Saigon Express for lunch and we were not disappointed. We chose several small orders and a variety of mains which came in succession. The dishes were tasty and fresh and certainly warmed our tummies on that cold day. The place is simple but clean and staff are friendly. Their prices are reasonable and we will surely come back here to try the other dishes on their menu. We left the place satisfied and will recommend this place to our family and friends.
If you are looking for romantic luxury ambience you are in the wrong place. If you are looking for good quality food you are in the right place. This small basic establishment in the heart of North Hobart's restaurant strip (near the pedestrian lights) is the real deal. Friendly staff an extensive menu and prompt service make for a great experience. There's a BYO option (the only option if you want a wine).
When travelling in South Australia and Victoria I tried A Traditional Vietnamese Salad Roll called a Banh Me. I stumbled across this Restaurant and not only do the sell Banh Me but man traditional Vietnamese dishes so many and yet so healthy. If you are in the Restaurant Strip in North Hobart be sure to drop in Day or Night your sure to leave with a full belly and your tastebuds will thank you too?
Friendly staff, food arrives at the table quickly.We ordered some rice noodles and seafood rolls (like spring rolls). While the beef and chicken noodle soups aren't as good as the one we had back in Melbourne, the seafood rolls are quite nice.We also tried their country fried chicken which is indeed quite nice. Nice little place. Good service. All the food looked great (salt/pepper tofu. Prawn roll yourself rice paper wrap ) but unfortunately lacked those great intense vietnamese flavors. SP tofu had no flavor and we had to add salt and pepper. The chillies had no heat. Disappointing as everything looked fantastic. Perhaps its a one off, or just what we ordered.
I have been many times and am a big fan - carefully made , large portions, generous prawns and spotlessly clean. The decor is not romantic and hate the huge mirror but the food is lovely - and the chef will make it hotter or spicier if you ask . I think the menu is too big and the fried chicken is a turnoff but I cannot fault the food .
Nothing special here. Chicken soup has bought in sliced chicken fillets, no vegetables and the cheapest flat vermicelli in it. Nothing like Footscray, but all you can expect around these parts.
The beef pho with raw beef (it cooks in the broth) is excellent value and is as good as the ones I have had in Vietnam. The serving is huge and I struggle to finish it. Well worth a visit Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Don't be put off by the somewhat lacklustre decor, the service is always good and the crackling pork banh mi is the best I have tried in Australia.
