This rustic family restaurant (open only for lunches) offers a hearty lunch in a fixed price and reasonable menu. Starting from local garbure (Basque veg soup) followed by baby trout then duck or lamb or both with chips then local sheep cheese and green salad then dessert! House wines very reasonable and the menu is totally unnecessary! In winter a roaring fire and in summer a terrace by babbling stream! Good parking but really winding road leading further up the mountain. Pas de Roland on the way utterly fabulous with a white water rafting possibility nearby! advised by a nice Basque at a spelt terrace, we booked two days before to be sure to be able to eat there. We were not disappointed, we ate like epicurean ogres! the best, the grilled lamb with its exceptional taste, but the rest is also worth the sinuous and tiny road that leads us to this typical restaurant. in photo, the soup that doesn't pay a mine on its pretty plate but we tighten up three times! a welcome to the height of the place, charming.
