I came here by accident. I Googled best shawarma in Ottawa and this was the highest rated of 3 immediate options.There is no shawarma here. Quite the opposite as this is actually an entirely vegan restaurant. However, what I did find was the best vegan food I 've had in a long time.I had their lentil soup, which reminded me of my mom 's lentil soup growing up. I also had their falafel sandwich (not pictured) and can honestly say I haven 't had falafel this good in a restaurant before. Again, traditional recipe most likely, nothing like the dry falafel you can get at almost every shawarma place. Much more likely to find this quality in someone 's home.Also had a Turkish coffee and was pleasan...
Chickpeas is always a go to choice for delectably crafted falafel sandwiches. Falafel are always made to order, sandwiches include delicious toppings that stand out flavorwise from each other mint is always a must for me and adds so much to the sandwich.I always get the Jalapeño falafel sandwich/wrap (4.8/5) and it is always fresh, flavorful, filling and refreshing without being heavy or bloating. The jalapeño hummus adds a nice slight spicy touch to an already amazing wrap.I spoke with the owner who was very nice and super friendly! Can't believe it took me seven years to check out this gem! Everything was tasty, and I was delighted by the healthy choices, like the quinoa in tabouleh, and whole wheat pita offered with falafel. By the way those falafel are perfect. Unlike any I've tasted, including in Israel. The fries were also a revelation, with a Mediterranean twist in the spicing. And the food isn't oily and junky. Also love the ownership and staff. Warm engaging people who make you feel at home. And good space to spread out and eat. Pretty much my go-to joint now. ?
We’ve eaten here many times with no problems. This time…..Nobody answering the phone. Called over and over. Had to order on-line. Screwed up our order. Paid extra for side of hummus-not provided. Chickpeas make the best falafels ever! Everything is made on the premises they are so fresh and they taste amazing.Every time I visit Ottawa I pay Chickpeas at least one visit!Omar served me today, 10 out of 10 for service. Keep up the good work. Your service and the food keep me coming back.

The most delicious falafel wrap I’ve ever had. Very fresh ingredients all made from scratch. Friendly staff. And the entire menu is vegan. Can’t wait to try some new menu items my next visit. Thank you!
