Chimac Korean Pub Fried Chicken

I've visited Chimac a few times, and to be honest, it's just average. Their Fire Gopchang (beef intestines) is quite good, and I definitely recommend it if you're up for trying something different, although it can be a bit grainy on occasion. One of the nice aspects of Chimac is the variety of flavors they offer for their chicken. However, I find the chicken isn't as crispy as it used to be. I do enjoy their Boneless Padak, particularly because it comes with a generous amount of green onions. On the downside, I wouldn't recommend the Fish Cake Soup, as it's rather bland, and while the Seafood Udon is acceptable, I wouldn’t order it again. Overall, I think there are better places for chicken....

I heard about this restaurant from a friend and decided to take my parents here for a meal. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food quality. We ordered a half original fried chicken, a half sweet and sour, an assortment of fries (regular, yam, and onion rings), and the spicy chicken soup. The chicken was warm but extremely dry and lacked tenderness, suggesting it had been sitting out for a while. The fries were just okay—dry and greasy with very little seasoning. The spicy chicken soup was flavorful, but it was too spicy for our liking. On a positive note, the service was great; our servers were very nice and accommodating.

During a recent visit to Victoria, my husband and I dined at Chimac Korean, and we absolutely loved it. We arrived right at opening time (noon) and were greeted by a fantastic waiter. The service was prompt, and the food was exquisite. I ordered the spicy chicken soup, while my husband opted for the chicken gizzards. The portion sizes were quite generous and satisfying. The restaurant has a small and cozy atmosphere, coupled with outstanding cuisine. A special shoutout to our waiter—unfortunately, we forgot to ask for his name. When we next find ourselves in Victoria, we will definitely return!

This restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere with appealing decor that is visually appealing. The booths are tidy and offer plenty of privacy. Our server was attentive, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing. We ordered two different flavors of fried chicken and yam fries. The chicken was dry and lacked juiciness, the seasoning was bland, and the fries were served lukewarm and without salt. The Korean-style fried chicken here is absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. The portion sizes are generous for the price. While the space is a bit small, it is clean and cozy. However, I did encounter some issues with the service, as others have mentioned. The waitress wasn't very friendly, and they don’t offer water or drinks automatically, so you’ll need to request them. Despite this, the chicken is definitely worth a visit!

I ordered through Uber Eats since I'm spending Christmas alone this year after moving to Victoria. The corn cheese was incredibly delicious and creamy, and the soy chicken was perfectly fried and tasted amazing. The pickled radish was super fresh and complemented the chicken wonderfully. I got a lot of meaty bones in the pork bone stew, and the flavor was phenomenal. I can't wait to eat from this place again, and I haven't even finished my meal yet!

I had dinner there on a Saturday night, and the food was truly delightful. The service was both prompt and friendly. Make sure to use the button on the table whenever you need assistance; similar to the approach in Korea, they mostly allow you to enjoy your meal without interruption unless you call them over.
