walking down the street we were craving Korean. We notice this place and popped inside. a simple menu if you are not looking for Korean BBQ, but a tasty one I will admit. We tried the corn fritters which were delicious. great balance and not overly battered. We also tried the pork tacos which were very tasty. after a few appetizers we were still hungry. We ended up order the mix and match fried chicken. The chicken came out perfectly cooked and seasoned. A nice dinner out with friends. Unfortunately, we forgot to take photos ;)
Having eaten at numerous Korean Mexican places in America I was eager to try a chimac in Melbourne. We ordered quite a range of things to share and were very impressed with the spicy pork Tacos. Ingredients were very fresh with just the right amount of spice. Quesadillas were also fantastic. Really tasty cheese as well. The only real let down was the Kim chi fries as these lacked a fair amount of toppings for the price. Highly recommended for a group of friends as its a fun way to dine!
Our first time at this eatery and it was a very pleasant surprise! Very interesting range of food which marry korean and mexican style cuisines. We had the bulgogi quesadilla, kimchi pancake and fried chicken. We enjoyed everything we ordered although the fried chicken (which is their house specialty) is a tad dry and could do with some chilly sauce... We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly! Would recommend this place for those who would like an unusual and pleasant experience.
The staff are very friendly and the food is delicious! I tried the fried chicken and beef quesadilla, and also enjoyed the sweet chili KFC and kimchi pancake from a previous visit. The portion sizes are generous, the wait time is short, and the flavors are amazing. The fusion of Mexican and Korean cuisine may seem unusual, but it is a combination that truly impresses. My husband and I went to Chimac over Labour Day weekend. The place was very busy but they were able to accommodate us without a reservation. Many of the customers were speaking Korean to the staff which made for a very authentic experience.The food was great. I had the Cal-Chi which is half a chicken and calamari. The crispy chicken and calamari were cooked perfectly.
However, the spicy chicken flavor was a bit overwhelming, as the sweetness and sauce overpowered the chicken. Overall, I would give this restaurant a rating of 3.5 out of 5.
Good french style food. good service, pretty reasonable prices (especially if you use tesco vouchers as you only have to pay for drinks!) the croque
