While visiting a friend in DSM, she recommended Classic Frozen Custard after the dog park. I've had my share of frozen custard, and this by far was one of the Top 3. I had a double bowl of chocolate. They were definitely NOT shy with the proportions. It was cold, creamy, and delicious! Don't let the worn facade fool you. I'm going back again on my next visit. Don't miss out!!!
Don’t trust ANYONE that doesn’t give this place 5 stars. This is Des Moines’s finest. The lemon is my absolute favorite, but any flavor I’ve ever had has been outstanding. TRULY the best cookies and cream I’ve ever had in my entire life. Staff is so kind portions are out of control.If you haven’t gone yet: WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU.
This place has a nostalgic vibe and offers some of the best ice around, especially when you compare it to Black Cat and Home Sweet Cones in Waukee. Plus, their prices and portion sizes are really fair—definitely value for your money!

In my opinion, taste is subjective when it comes to Edge. However, Classic's Custard truly embodies what custard should be, and I believe it stands up well against the custard offerings in both Milwaukee and St. Louis.
Good, but very thick Custard. It may have been placed in freezer in the morning) then given to customers in the evening. Not soft or fresh from the machine when you order : I couldn't finish my ice so thick.
Lived in Dm for over 30 +yrs an never got anything from here but was introduced to a milkshake that is beyond BUSSIN I was amazed of the great tasting flavor..definitely will be back to try more things. 10+

It is a run down building. Really good ice cream and sundaes. Friendly service. They also have a drive up window.
