After our last trip to Montreal, I expected good but not great food. Code Ambiance happily proved me wrong!Our meal began with the venison tartar. (When we asked the server/owner to help us decide between venison and lamb, we got a coin to flip!) As yankees, the best that we can hope for at home is a tasty beef tartar. This tartar was rich and flavorful. Well have to go back for the lamb tartar. Our next course was a duck leg and beef tenderloin. Both were cooked to perfection. But all of this was prelude to the most amazing desert pairing that I've ever had-tarte tatin with foie gras. Sheer genius! With no crust on the tarte, the foie gras served a butteriness that both filled out the apple...
