What a great night out! Have been wanting to pay the Copper Pot a visit for a while now. On a very cold and wet Melbourne winter Saturday night we had booked for 6.30 into a restaurant just next door to the Copper Pot to enjoy a hearty pasta. However after 20 mins of waiting for drinks service - not even water was brought to the table - we walked out and stepped through the doors of the Copper Pot next door.Sarah greeted us at the door with a lovely welcoming smile and she was so accommodating, we were lucky as a table was available till 8.30 which suited us. A small and cosy restaurant - that became quite stuffy after a while and I became quite glad with the in and out of patrons to allow some cool flowing air.I found our service somewhat slow, for both wine/water and meals. Would have liked to try the tasting menu - but was unable to swap the dessert of creme brulee (that neither of us like or eat) - unusual as Ive found most places that offer tasting menus or degustation will make allowances for food dislikes.... We shared all the dishes of brussel sprouts - a little hard in the middle and no great flavour, the mushroom cannoli, had nice flavors but didnt really wow...The slow cooked beef was lovely melted in your mouth and the accompaniments...
We had dinner here to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday. The staff were fantastic - friendly, attentive and knew the menu well.For a suburban restaurant, Copper Pot is at the upper end of the scale. Dinner for 3 - two courses plus a bottle of wine was $330. I'm just not sure that the suburb of Seddon is ready to pay these prices. As per the title of my review, perhaps it's just not my type of food. I am a very clean eater and the food was very rich. An example is with the sides - no salad or basic vegetables available. I ate the prawns for main and they were delicious. I ate the clams for starter and they were over cooked and chewy. Wine list is also expensive with the cheapest pinot noir b...
I have been a few times with friends and took my husband for the first time. The night started with the fantastic Sarah getting us booked in at last minute on a Saturday arvo. Sitting at the chefs table we watched everything be prepared from pan to plate. We started with a glass of champagne, pigs head croquettes and the pomme fritts which were "wicked" .The gnocchi was a stand out for two meat eaters the little fluffy pillows were a highlight . We could not decide on a dessert option so had both and finished with cheese. The chocolate mousse was warm and rich with a hint of spice and the creme brûlée had a thick burnt sugar layer, perfect to crack and a delightful custard underneath. Copper... I took my friend here for her birthday. She doesn't eat meat or dairy so I emailed ahead and asked if their famous Road Trip (6 course for $65) can be tailored to suit her (both of us). We found everyone to be very friendly. We sat at the chefs bar - always my favourite way to eat - highly recommend this as you can watch everyone work their magic as u enjoy your meal. When I thanked them for being so accomodating to our dietary request they actually said they enjoyed the opportunity to be creative and cater for requests like that when they are notified in time. Oysters and octopus salad were my fave. Cosy place and highly recommended.
we visited Copperpot for a family dinner recently and we were all very pleasantly surprised. The service was impeccable, very welcoming and helpful. Food was great, all seven of us thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we had chosen. Highly recommend and am definately going back to do the 'foodies road trip' . Wine selections were reasonable and the ambience was great. Another good restaurant in the west!
Had a beautiful birthday dinner there. Recommended by the friendly and helpful staff to have the "Trip around the world"..who needs to travel? Amazing food-super friendly and helpful staff and a wine list to savour

Lola is a nice little cafe in sleepy Seddon and has a great assortment of indoor and brightly coloured umbrella laden outdoor tables.
