The staff is AMAZING! So friendly, helpful, can't say enough about you all! I have been going to crowns since as long as I can remember. At the age of 13 I started working there and stayed for 5 years. To this day the same waitresses I worked with 22 years ago are still waiting tables today. You girls are the best, emma and denise! The menu hasn't changed much. Still serving the heart stopping BLT, Turkey Special, and all the other favorites. Of course i can't forget to mention the famous homemade hand dipped ice cream. Every flavor is my fave!
The neighborhood almost made me turn around and drive away. But the restaurant was fine and there seemed to be nothing bad. My family and I went in to eat. It's a cool piece of history with great food. Save room for candy and/or ice cream. Both are made there. I couldn't believe how much bacon was on the BLT! I love me some bacon. The BLT was true to its core and very good. Not overly embellished. The business has been there since 1913 and it is not in the hands of the 4th generation of the family!
I didn't expect this place to be so cool. so many unique facets to this fantastic restaurant! the tiny stalls, funny sweets displays, old school table page jukeboxes! so much fun! and eating was a big hit with our whole group. 1000% child friendly! I had the egg salad sandwich and the Swiss chocolate sun! my pro tip dips their chips into their sunshade. sweet and salty. perfection! would recommend them!
I can’t get enough of this place! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is truly vintage, and the staff is so friendly and fun. Find a friend who will share a plate with you so you can order 2 sandwiches (one must be the BLT) any then finish it with a fresh banana milkshake. You can even get candy to go. And the owners are wonderful and generous people. Heaven.

Everyone should have the experience of eating here. What a great place and the people working there are fabulous. We take our grandsons there and they have a wonderful time. They love the food and shakes. Plus you can forget the candy. One of the must stops in St. Louis.

The cashier thought I was trying to jumping in line. but I was trying to see how much the dad's cookies were.he had a bad attitude .change my mind I would never go back down there again . Because he didn't know how to talk to anyone I had to hold my cool and walk out
