Just read the wall and you'll know that the Curly Kale means business when it come to what's on your plate. You have to be passionate about food to be this committed, and it show's. Just when I thought a simple bagel sandwich could not be improved on, I'm happy to say I was wrong. This was a creation that the cooks produce using the finest of ingredients available. In most other restaurants the total cost of producing a sandwich is less than what the Curly Kale's food cost is just for the Magpie bagel. I have been wanting to try out this restaurant since it opened....I follow them on Facebook and the menu and postings always look so appetizing. So today, with company from Ontario visiting, we went for lunch. I found the atmosphere very noisy and disruptive. We found it difficult, to hear the waitress or ourselves have a conversation. I appreciate that they source locally....however, while the baking is very good, the meals were unfortunate. The Cream of Asparagus soup, was thick, pasty and unappetizing. The Chicken and Leek soup, was sadly lacking substance.....with little to show it was either chicken or leek. The salads were passable, however, not outstanding.
I am amazed each time I dine at the Curly Kale. Everything about it is awesome. I consider myself a picky eater that usually sticks to something familiar, but even if I don't know what a menu item is or what it will taste like, I never have to be worried if it will be good, because it will be amazing!! Their London Fog drink is the best London Fog I have ever had. Their breakfasts are to die for. They have homemade ketchup that is just fantastic! And their lunches?!? Sooo good. My favourite thing for lunch is the Cordon Bleu Burger. Is it ever tasty. To make your lunch even better they serve local wines and craft beers. The Curly Kale is the place to go!
We went here for breakfast, stumbled on the place. Walked inside and loved the setting, it was open and lots of seating. Fresh baking at the counter and little info blurbs written on the walls about local foods they use. Our server was informed and friendly. Our food came and it was fantastic. It had very nice presentation and was tasty and fresh. Our eggs and toast were cooked perfect and the coffee was some of the best coffee we have ever had. Anyone looking for a healthy breakfast or nice coffee spot would love this place. The owners clearly take pride in the place and food and it shows. Will definitely be a regular spot for us.
Amazing little breakfast and lunch cafe in Chilliwack! Stumbled upon Curly Kale and I was so delighted with the menu option to create my own breakfast (being lactose intolerant and I don't prefer to eat bread for breakfast either) I enjoyed the beef brisket, kale mushrooms, 2 eggs, fruit salad and a herbal tea. Excellent service as well. I will be back on my way through town again! Vegan treats, dairy free gluten free options.
Best bakery and restaurant in Sardis; it's just too bad they don't make more baked goods and that they aren't open for dinner (and are closed Sun and Mon). Great breakfast and lunch spot, always good soups, salads, and sandwiches. I love that the food is all sourced locally and so is only available when in season. Gets busy right at lunchtime but most other times of day you can find a table.
Went for lunch this week and had the Italian Benedict with a latte. Super nice, cute little store, great menu, friendly staff and quick service. Everyone at the table had meals that looked very good an noone was upset by their order! Heading back for brunch again and I'm sure the curly kale will be part of our normal rotation now.
The food was delicious and the staff was very helpful. This experience makes me want to move to Chilliwack right away. I'm already planning my next meal there. The ingredients are organic, and their kombucha is very nice and refreshing.
Delicious food (duck confit burger, italian benedict and perogies), hot beverages (dark chocolate mocha and manchester fog) and perfect balance of crunchy and chewy nutella-filled cookie with safe practice of socially distanced tables.
