Shabby, dirty feeling, spider webs and cracks. So tired, minimal upkeep. Book only as last resort. AC doesn 't work. Minimal guest service. Well, the food is decent. However, many of the rooms are dirty, old, buggy and in need of a paint job. Pillows are covered with plastic and the beds are hard and dead bugs and detritus abound in the window. Windows don 't open and if they do, the sills are dirty. AC doesn 't work. And promises of switching to available rooms do not materialize. The canopy beds are filthy. I 'd recommend finding a recently emptied dumpster before I 'd book a room here. Although it is historic, not worth the trouble or your time to subject yourself to staying. The toilet didn 't flush right, made weird noises and had to jiggle the handle. Checked in and the Inn keeper was nice, but never disclosed there was construction going on outside at night. When I asked to check out after only 3 hours and state there is no possible way I 'm paying for a stay here with an extremely loud dump truck and equipment going on, the Inn keeper seemed puzzled what I was talking about. I spent my birthday weekend here and really enjoyed it. The room was cute and clean. I loved the clawfoot tub in the bathroom! I couldn't believe how nice the finish was on a tub that old. My room faced the street and I kept the windows open at night because I liked the quiet hum of cars driving by. For being on the main road in Woodbury, I thought it was amazingly quiet! Great location. Unfortunately, I never ate here but I plan on having dinner here the next time I'm in town. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Had an excellent lunch with our family here. The dining room is historic and cozy. For lunch we ordered the salmon which was cooked perfectly with a delicious glaze, potatoes and vegetables. Our meal also came with a soup and fresh rolls. We enjoyed looking around the lobby at the historic decor and admiring the colonial architecture. This is a good location for a special lunch or to host a special event as they have a lot of space and seating.
I visited the Curtis House Last night for dinner.Tuesday is Mexican night.Although you also have full menu options. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious and authentic my Chiminchaga was. I am a CIA graduate and to taste good food is a real treat.My lesson learned, don't judge a book by its cover. I can't wait for next Tuesday. Susan
I recently moved to the neighborhood and had the chance to dine here for the first time. I sat at the bar on one occasion and then at the restaurant on another, and both experiences were excellent. I've heard rumors that Michael's might be going out of business, and I really hope that's not true.
Curtis House Inn was sold in April 2019 and subsequently closed. According to newspaper reports, the new owners plan to reopen it at the end of May under a new name, the Evergreen Inn, with an emphasis on renovating the basement bar area. We’ll have to wait and see.

It seems my predictions were accurate. They've closed down, and the new owners are even changing the name because it has such a negative reputation.
Love this place! Food is amazing! I love how quaint and old fashioned it is. Definitely one of my favorite places in the areas!
