This pub is now under new ownership by Greene King. The decor has been updated, with an appropriate layout of tables and seating that suits a lively drinking atmosphere. Unfortunately, during my visit, the hand-pumped IPA was unavailable due to line cleaning, which is why I rated it 3 stars. In the past, I lived in the region where Greene King originated, so I occasionally visit their various branded outlets to enjoy a pint of IPA. The establishment features some interesting framed photos showcasing local scenes, both contemporary and historical, but they're somewhat overwhelming in the background and lack captions, except for one early 20th-century street scene.

This is a typical local pub that stays open late and tends to get quite busy. It has a great atmosphere and good music. The staff are efficient at serving at the bar, making it an enjoyable experience, especially on weekends.
