If you only had 30 minutes to spend on Lexington and you did not stop here then you missed out on the best food in Lexington by far. When you walk in this place you realize it's a very well loved spot but the line moves quickly. If it is your first time there then the man himself takes the time out of the busy day to tell you all about the cheese that they make and the sandwiches they offer. Even if you end up becoming a regular and then stop coming in for a while, Dad will remember you when you come back and will probably note to you which sandwich you usually get when you come in. Dad's favorites Deli never disappointed. Every time I enjoyed a meal here, it was extraordinary. The hectic of the place is always so intoxicating, but so warm and welcoming. Everyone seems to ask how you are and welcome you with a smile. Chipotle Cheddar and roast beef served on Ciabatta bread and Au Jus always meets the place. The Sultry sauce leads to the crispy roasted bread smeared in Tart Chipotle sauce and marries perfectly to the decadent roast beef. Diving the Sammy in the Au Jus brings everything together to make a warm messy bite that ensures a real comfort eating experience. Bravo Dad. You keep killing it!
For those unfamiliar with Dad’s, one could think “What’s the big deal about this little hole in the wall restaurant? Why are all these people lined up out the door in a strip mall for a sandwich?” But make no mistake my friend, this isn’t just any ol’ sandwich shop. It has some of the best cheese spreads in Kentucky, or maybe even in the US or the planet perhaps…it’s sooo good just saying. Ordered the Smoky Pimento BLT for lunch (pictured here). A little slice of heaven it did not disappoint. I recommend doubling the amount of pimento cheese though. Crazy good sandwich.
Dad’s Favorites really is our FAVORITE! The food is unbelievably tasty and the service is top-notch! The owner himself (Dad) is always there serving patrons and chatting. They are all so friendly and I love “hole-in-the-wall” eateries and this fits that bill. My favorite “special days” are Monday and Tuesday, but must say any day I go, my food is AMAZING! Great hole-in-the-wall (that’s a compliment). We look to stop at unique restaurants when we travel, and we found this gem. Great sandwiches and we had in depth conversations with Dad himself. We will be back even though it’s 20 minutes out of the way. Totally worth it!
Needed a.loght bite and this hit the spot. A bit hard to find but well worth it! Just go around the back of the building until you find them. Great food, sandwiches and tacos were tasty. Owner was on site, very friendly, customer focused.
I love the bread and “supercharged” Mayo they use on their sandwiches. Quality ingredients make for a great lunch. Photo by owner James welcomes the lunch. Go early on Thursday or Friday, lunch specialties are fire.

I can't wait to come back. The atmosphere was great, and the fact that they are separated gives it a mindless feeling. The door is enough.
