Danphe Nepalese and Indian Food

It is a must place to have food if you love Indian food. I went there few days back and it was an amazing experience. I ordered the Momo platter which is a combination of different types of momos and even though it is a starter I think i can have it as main as well it was so delicious and authentic. Tastes amazing, be it the deep fried ones which are crispy or the soft steamed ones, truly amazing. In the main I tried the Non-veg thali, and my God it was so damn good. Danphe was recommended to us by a Nepalese national living in Hobart.The restaurant is relatively new and tucked away off the main track. The menu offers a selection of Nepalese and Indian cuisines with a wide variety of starters, main and desserts that are not your usual sweet type.The Barramundi fillets in a medium spiced curry melted in the mouth.The curried goat was extremely tender and tasty.We didn't see any alcohol for sale or a byo sign, even so the mango lassi was smooth and a little bit sour which leaves a creamy after taste.This is definitely a restaurant that you should visit.

Rather than a bland copy of the usual Indian food with which we are all very familiar this restaurant provides some lovely samples of traditional Nepalese food and what a delight it is. Superbly cooked fresh and tasty food was a delight. Vegetable momo's, Nepalese chicken curry, rice, daal and nan bread is all wonderfully fresh and makes a simple meal served in a very clean restaurant by charming hosts who seemed like a family to me. I absolutely enjoyed the food, the service was excellent, and I appreciated the recommendations since I had never tried Nepalese cuisine before. I loved every dish I tried and it was served promptly. The spinach and paneer curry stood out as particularly exceptional. The restaurant has a cozy cafe-style atmosphere that is unassuming, but the food and prices are fantastic. After dining at Danphe Restaurant, I left exclaiming that it was 'incredibly beautiful!' Everything was fantastic, from the charming yet humble decor to the friendly, polite, and helpful waitress, as well as the truly amazing food and reasonable prices. We tried the momo platter, goat curry dahl baat, and naan bread, all of which were delicious and perfectly prepared. I couldn't find any faults and will definitely be returning many more times!

After trolling through central Hobart on a Sunday evening for a restaurant that when we found it was closed, we walked further and came across this little gem. Small in size but great food and authentic flavours. First time momo dumplings- moorish.... Yellow Dal & Tikka Marsala cooked to order, not disappointed. When my 9 yo daughter devours bowls of Dall I know it's a winner.

Great food, tried the chicken tikka masala with saffron rice and a plain naan. Everything tasted great, restaurant is well kept with friendly staff. Highly recommended, one of the tastiest in Hobart. Also, pricing is extremely reasonable, especially when weighed against the quality of the food!

Hobart is pretty by day, but not a happening place at nightThis restaurant had the virtue of being open on Sunday after 5, but was also delicious.
