I rarely write bad reviews, but I felt compelled to do so after my experience in this coffee yesterday. I am currently very pregnant and my husband and I met a friend we hadn't seen in this cafeteria for years. During our time here we buy two drinks games and some cakes. While we were there, the staff asked us to move to a smaller table, as a larger group was coming, this was not a problem, as we were at a bigger table because it was all that was available when we arrived. Not long after this, three staff members abruptly asked us in quick succession if we could leave as the people who arrived wanted food. Visited the cafe and ordered a bacon and egg baguette with a coffee. Now I know some people will think I 'm being picky here but, I do wish ALL cafes and delis and restaurants would advertise that they only use smoked bacon on the menu. And I should have learned by now to ask, but sometimes you 're in a hurry or you just forget to ask. I really dislike smoked bacon and would appreciate this being pointed out on the menu or at least members of staff informing customers that they only use smoked bacon (as most pubs inform people of certain makes of drinks they supply). And I wasn 't happy with the response I recieved after posting my first review.
Combe Downers is so lucky to have this great Deli on our doors. I've eaten and removed food from here many times since it opened almost 20 years ago. Food is delicious and healthy and I have always found friendly and helpful staff. The only critical comment I made a few years ago was when once the curly cabbage salad had hard and chewy pieces. But this is a precious gem of a place that we are very lucky to have in our community.
If you are seeking a nutritious breakfast or lunch, this restaurant is the ideal choice. The selection of fresh and healthy salads is impressive, as well as the breakfast options. I highly recommend the avocado, bacon, and poached eggs, and if you're craving something indulgent, the gluten-free millionaire's shortbread is incredible.

We called in for cofffe and ended up leaving with double delicious food, we ordered the hot wraps I had a super food hot wrap that was faultless and my good friend had the onion and something else I can’t remeber the name but it looked really good and he said it was I can’t recomend them enough with value for money to boot
Really enjoyed my recent visit to the Deli. It has been a while since my last visit and the menu ranged as really improved under the new owner. We went to get the usual baguette but found a whole new and exciting menu of various salads and delicious dishes.
We had a pleasant lunch at this restaurant. The warm ciabattas were priced at around £6 to £7 each for dining in. The salads also looked appealing. Additionally, there is free 2-hour parking available outside.
Darling Deli is simply delicious! This charming little deli serves mouthwatering food, and the gentleman who served us was both charming and handsome. I can't wait to go back!

I visited the Darling Deli for a cupcake on an afternoon from Monday to Friday around 1500. It was my first visit.
