We have had many good meals at Dat's Italian in the past. We arrived this evening right at opening and I ordered spagetti with meat sauce while my wife ordered the Sicilian Spagetti Pie. After ordering, I heard a waiter telling the cook that he should have made red sauce that day. Our order came up quickly and I noticed the portion size to appear smaller than on previous occasions. I also found the sauce to be about room temperature and the noodles only slightly warm. It tasted like the sauce was not heated up properly before it was poured on the spagetti noodles cooling the dish down. First off.... NO BREAD??? ...smh.... Really should have been a one-star review but the server was nice. After reading these reviews I'm perplexed after my visit. I think these people that have gave this restaurant 4 and 5 stars have never been to an Italian restaurant before. It's sad really. I got the eggplant Parmesan which claimed to be the best.... It was less than average. Hardly any sauce and a little bit of cheese. No offer of fresh grated Parmesan either.... I've had a better Italian meal for a better price at one of the Italian chain restaurants my cousin calls McItalian. Extremely disappointed, first off the waiter didn’t greet us at all he just stared at us and expected us to do the talking. I asked if we could order drinks first since we didn’t know what we wanted and he said it would be easier on the kitchen if we ordered it all at once. I should’ve known then. He checked on us once and there’s was only 2 small tables there besides us. They were out of the lemon martini and I asked for a recommendation and he looked at me like I was stupid. We ordered bread and he said they forgot it in the oven and it was burnt and when it finally came out with our main courses it was burnt again. I went last week and was treated to probably the best Italian food I 've ever had, and wonderful service. I had the pleasure of being served by the one of the owners, Derek. He was very attentive and made sure we wanted for nothing. He graciously reccomended the Chicken Alfredo, which was absolutely fantastic. The sauce was exceptional and the chicken was tender and juicey (and made fantastic leftovers the next day). I also ordered their new bruchetta, and I 'm not exaggerating when I say it changed my perception of bruchetta. They even let me take a teramisu to go. Unfortunately I squished mine, but my dinner mate said it was devine . I absolutely reccomend this place.
We came last year as tourists, the place was packed, we came last night it was empty. Food wasn’t as good this time around. The men’s bathroom had mud all over it, the women’s bathrooms had no soap. 4 people, meal, salad =120$. I don’t think it was worth it, we won’t be coming back. It appears the place has gone down hill.
I love this place. The atmosphere is amazing and I suggest everyone eat here. It was a little sketchy once the new management took over but it seems to be all over now. I’m couldn’t be happier. This place is amazing and everything is delicious. I suggest everyone eat here all the time.
Me, my dayghter and son inlaw had dinner there a couple weeks ago It was fantastic I had rhe sausage carbonara. It was great Tonight I made my own and sadly it didn't compare.
This by far is the greatest Italian restaurant you will eat at, I highly recommend this restaurant over Olive Garden, you will not regret it!
Delicious food, great service, great atmosphere. No more words needed. Truly a hidden gem within the heart of Old Colorado City.
