A little gem in the heart of the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks. One might worry that Dimitri's would be a tourist trap like so many of the restaurants in this Greek village but that's not the case at all. The food was very authentic and house made Greek food, though there are plenty of other options. Several seafood and landlubber options are also available. The staff is mainly geek, accents and all so listen closely. We arrived early on a Saturday night and they were packed. This is the second time we 've been to Dimitri 's. This time we went at the request of our 93 year old bestie. Ambiance: The overall vibe of this restaurant is great. It 's smaller than I expected but that 's certainly not a complaint. We were lucky enough to sit at a table alongside the windowed back so we could see the water. Service: Everyone in the restaurant is extremely friendly. Our waiter took a bit to warm up but he was very good. He answered all questions, checked in on us frequently, and did a great job taking care of all of us. Food: The food at Dimitri 's is solid. We drove from our place in Daytona Beach to Leesburg to meet up with our daughter and then all the way to Tarpon Springs for lunch. Yup, just lunch. Loved the setting on the water, excellent food and great servers. They had my favorite Greek white wine-the Boutari Moschofilero. It got better from there! We decided to eat family style so that we could get the perfect Greek food fix. We started with the spread sampler. It was perfect. My sister surprised me and took me here for my bday .. I've never been to tarpon springs before she thought I would love it and she was right . Such a cute town , very Greek with lots of cute little shops. Sea salt sponges are very popular here , they sell them in all different sizes and shapes. The restaurant itself is no frills but the food is absolutely magnificent. I would fly there just to eat and fly back that's just how good it is. We were seated by the water which was very nice , we ordered octopus , salad , the spread variety (fave) , halloumi and chicken souvlaki . Everything was out of this world . Authentic Greek food with amazing service and a gorgeous view! I lived here in Tarpon Springs years ago and have eaten at most of the places by the docks. This one has class and the staff are V like family. The lamb is so good that I I think I heard angels singing over my head. The Horta, (dandelion) is delicious too. Come here and skip the other touristy places.
Uh oh. Stopped in today at 1 p.m. for drinks and snacks on the patio. Not busy. We were not seated because only 'full dining ' is permitted. Too too bad. I understand that restaurants prefer diners who want a full meal, but a half empty restaurant probably should think about accommodating 'snackers. ' So sad. This has been one of my favorites in Tarpon Springs.
Loved this restaurant. Everything was super fresh. Gyros were amazing and the Greek salad. Bread tasted like right out of the oven. Hummus was super tasty as well. Customer service was on point. We had a table in the back on the water and was amazed by the number of fish waiting for bread to be tossed to them. It was a great experience.
Sitting out by the water, watching all the boats pass by, and enjoying Authentic Greek food at Dimitri's on a Saturday afternoon is where it's at! It's worth the drive from Dunedin to enjoy the Pastitso and Chicken Souvlaki Sandwiches!!! SO good. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The restaurant is on the water and has a beautiful outdoor patio. The staff is friendly and professional. The food is delicious, and there are so many options to choose in the menu!
