Such a find! We were charging our EV across the street (road trip!! and noticed the diner in the distance. So we decided to give it a try.We got seated quickly and had drinks on the table before we knew it. Our server (Miranda was great! She made some excellent suggestions. After placing our order, we were thanked for coming into Dolly's by this couple that had been seated over in the corner. We asked our waitress who that couple was. She told us it was Dolly and her husband. They seemed like a genuinely nice couple. Miranda couldn't say nicer things about Mrs. Dolly. If you like touristy places, this is ok. It 's a retro diner with lots of TV menus. We had hit turkey sandwich with sweet potatoes, fries, grilled chicken sandwiches with potatoes, and a loaded bacon, chili, cheese) baked potatoe with a bowl of chili. The turkey plate, chicken plate, and the chili were all 4.5s. hot, fresh, tasty) but smaller portions than I want from a diner. Even the bacon, chili, and cheese were really good on potatoes. We were visiting from South Carolina for a wedding and decided to grab a bite to eat here. AMAZING! If you want super friendly staff and great food, go here. Mr. Dolly stopped by our table to ask how our food was and to take our plates. He was so nice and talked us in to the best Holy Cow Cake!
We had a very large group (14). The food was great. Our waitress, Ashley did an excellent job. Even though there were so many of us we got in and out very quickly. Awesome little retro dinner. All the fried food and shakes from the past. They were very busy. I can only imagine they stay that way. I got a shrimp and fish platter, and we ended with a banana split. I recommend stopping when passing through.
It looks like an old fashioned dinner. I recommend the biscuits and gravy. I'm not big on biscuits and gravy so this is a big compliment. Any time I pass by there which won't likely be a lot, but I will stop every time.
Food was delicious despite the waitress forgetting to put our order in and then being rude and unwilling to admit her mistake. The manager made it right though.
