Our go-to Chinese place closed down and we are looking for a new place. We thought we would try Egg Roll King as they got good reviews and were close by.The food was okay (we liked the fresh veggies and nice cuts of meat they use) but we will still keep looking for our new go-to place for Chinese. Here's why:We placed our order for delivery on Friday just after 5:00pm. It's free delivery if your order is over $40 pretax. Our order was over $40.Strike 1 - we finally received our food at 6:45pmStrike 2 - we were charged $6.95 for deliveryStrike 3 - when we called about the charge we were told it was for mileage. have eaten here many times. you may think all egg rolls are the same, not so. they are delicious and just as good the next day warmed up or cold. I believe they are home made. egg roll king lo mein and chicken fried rice are my favourites. try them spicy. the owner tony is super nice. restaurant does not hold many people but its clean and comfortable. parking only for 3 but you can park around the corner in large lot. the wait time can be a little much but worth the wait and large portions priced right. I recommend a try.
Courtland Ave and Peter. Street isn't consider prime restaurant real estate. Despite this, one of Kitchener's best kept secrets is a Chinese Restaurant called the Egg Roll King. Not many tables but food that matches anything the larger, better known Kitchener restauants have to offer. And the prices are incredible - for the cost of a Big Mac combo, I had a full dinner for one and leftovers for lunch. If that's not good value, I don't know what is.
The Egg Roll King was recommended to me as a good place to eat. If it was not recommended to me, I would of drove by it. I am not an egg roll fan, but I ordered the egg rolls and the wonton soup. Both items I ordered were the best that I have had anywhere, bar none. Sometimes a hole in the wall pays off. Definitely stop at the Egg Roll King. The owner was also very friendly. a group of us attended this restaurant, it was not very busy - we went for lunch. had the pad thai, spring rolls, egg rolls, a chicken noodle dish recommended by the owner, chicken wings and lots of fried rice - all were great.i would highly recommend this place for eat in or take out
Egg Roll King offers great food at a reasonable price. The food is freshly made, with no msg. The surroundings are not fancy, and sometimes you have to wait a bit as this is a small place with a small staff, but the wait will always be worth it!
What a cozy spotless place with a charismatic friendly owner who made us feel right at home. The food is hot, fresh and delicious! The owner is friendly and helpful. We will be back!!

Ordered take out and the food was delish. The prices are reasonable and have a large menu to choose from to satisfy any taste, the eggrolls are amazing.
