We were promptly seated, likely one of the first diners for the evening. The server was enthusiastic, engaging, and hardworking. Unfortunately, they were out of one of the featured items, which was disappointing on Christmas Eve. The food, however, was good on its own. We ordered the Kaiseki and the matching sake. The timing of the courses and sake was off, affecting the tasting experience for the first dish. It was unclear if the second course was adjusted as it was changed to something else. Typically, I would expect the 7-course meal to be served in a specific order to enhance the dining experience, but this was not the case. Despite this, the individual dishes were good. We’ve been to Ené many times and it is consistently great. That’s not easy for a restaurant to do, but Ené has managed it. The quality of food and service is very high. It’s friendly, conscientious and caring. In a city with many restaurants, Ené has been in my top 5 places to eat since it opened. The only issue we’ve ever had is it can be a bit noisy, but that’s only because it’s not a large space and it’s going to get busy since the food is excellent! I think they could increase their dessert selections there’s room to innovate here however the crepe cake is very good and portion sizes are just right.
This is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have visited in the Pacific Northwest region. The seafood is incredibly fresh and all the dishes are delicious. The presentation of the food is also pleasing. It was the first time I tried a whole Shabu-Shabu meal and still found myself feeling hungry afterwards. I ended up wanting to get pizza to satisfy my hunger.
The food and drink is VERY good here with a cool ambience and amazing sake choices to pair alongside the food. We shared one order of the holiday chefs menu with pairings and it was plenty of food. We had an incredible dining experience with a great menu at this restaurant. We tried some new dishes that we absolutely loved. The food, presentation, and service were all exceptional.
The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. The ambiance was lively and laid-back. I would definitely return to sample more of the delicious menu.
