After reading all the great reviews about this place we decided to give them a try. We got a table after waiting 45 minutes after being told it would be a 20 minute wait. The server gave us our coffee but there wasn't any creamer and we asked for some not once but 3 times. We finally got the creamer after waiting for 20+ minutes and our coffee became ice cold. Trying to get refills from our server was almost impossible as they were too worried about the other tables that sat down after us. We had to ask the other servers for refills because the original server wouldn't check in on us. There were multiple tables that sat down after us that had their food and left before we even got our 4 meal...
We have been going to the Diner almost every morning for breakfast for several months. I have yet to meet any member of their staff that, even if they were having a rough day, didn't greet me and my co-workers with a smile; that includes the cooks and owner. Like I said we have been going there for quite sometime so we have probably met most of the staff. We now have an awesome waitress who knows our order by memory! They're also great with my son when I bring him in, giving him to-go cups and sometimes even a treat. Between how the staff treats their customers and how great the food is, why go anywhere else?
I had a skillet with mushrooms, egg, salsa, onions, pepper jack cheese and my boss had the taco salad. Every staff member was cheerful and seemed to enjoy their job. They were helpful and did their best to make sure each customer was pleased. My meal was good and my boss liked his salad. He only mentioned to me he wished the taco meat was warm. I can’t wait to return to try more!
My parents used to love this place and go there often. I lost them back in March. The other day was their wedding anniversary and I stopped at the diner for breakfast after visiting the cemetery. Glad I did. Everything was amazing. Super delicious food and fantastic service. Great value for the money. See you again soon, Freedom Square.
wow this is the best diner food if they could even limit it to call it diner food that I had all year. look at this blt, it should be a bbblt! and the server are fantastic and fast, wish quality dinge how this worked in some of the higher restaurants around pittsburgh
this morning with a worker to the breakfast. I'm so excited that we chose you. fantastic service, fantastic eating and a fantastic environment. the diner was super clean, was modern, but had a vintage feeling. the coffee was also excellent! many thanks for existing!
The diner was very busy but staff was competent and friendly. Good selection of food. I was part of a party of three and we all enjoyed our meal. Lost a star for mediocre coffee, served with non-dairy lightener.
our waitress was jules and she is fantastic! personality, service and know. one of the best waitresses I had everywhere. was just for breakfast, but great selection and always good.
Food and staff are really good but damn it's so overpriced for a diner/breakfast. Was over $20 for just me by myself. Only time I ever pay over $20 for breakfast is when I do brunch
