Went for the 1st time on June 23rd and although the food was good (except for my cold pizza), in general it was good.The atmosphere was nice and as the night went on (after 10pm), the music became considerably louder (to the point where everyone was screaming, haha).The reason for the 2 stars was the service, it was terrible.The waitress was rude (making faces, sometimes arrogant, she forgot to bring cutlery, milk and dessert for one of our friends).My friend had to get up to ask for cutlery, milk etc….. we couldn’t find her, it’s like she disappeared and the restaurant wasn’t even that full. I had a delightful dining experience at Gatto Matto with my mom. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed our meal. Our dish exceeded our expectations, and we left the restaurant feeling satisfied and content.While there were a few minor hiccups with reception, the overall service was fantastic. Our waiter was not only attentive and friendly, he was helpful in recommending dishes and ensuring that our needs were met throughout the evening.Despite the initial muddle with their reception, once we were seated, the ambiance was cozy and inviting, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time together. We got seated at 9:40, when our reservation was at 9pm. Around 9:30 i asked the hostess what’s going on and that we would rather leave, she answers “not everyone in your group (of 10) showed up at 9pm”..Food and atmosphere were great, good music in the background and a pleasant design of the hall were the only positives however.When we got seated, 2 other tables did so as well and for that I don’t blame our waitress for a slow service start, but when i see two managers just walking around watching without providing any help, I could assume a young management in need of far more experience than putting on a matching shirt and supervising.
We went for a girls night and our food was delicious and the ambiance was great how ever the service wasn’t up to par. We ordered a tiramisu dessert for our friends birthday and they just plopped it on a plate upside down. our drinks took a very long time to arrive, we watched the bartender make one drink and then stop to go take shots with the table behind us. Our waitress tossed the dessert menu on our table on her way to the kitchen without saying a word. It was a disappointing experience despite having heard good things about this restaurant.
When we visit Montreal my wife and I like to try something new! We checked out this Italian restaurant recommended by a friend! Let me tell you what an incredible experience we had! The food, the atmosphere, the service was incredible! The vibe was amazing! Will definitely come back to this restaurant. Can't wait! Thank you to the the managing team for their awesome hospitality! ????
I suspect years ago it was higher quality. Service was average. We had to chase or find our waitress a few times. Pizza with porchetta and provolone was 'dry ' and too salty. Grilled octopus appetizer was good. Nothing remarkable. Nothing too bad. Won 't go out of my way to repeat.
Amazing place would come back again for sure! The food is very good and filling too. Everything tasted fresh. I went for a birthday and even though we were a big table our waitress (Beatrice) was amazing. Thank you for the great experience!
We went for my daughters birthday. Staff is very attentive. Food is excellent. We had a bit of everything from appetizers to pizza and pasta. It was all so good! Beautiful restaurant and decor is wow! I recommend
