In my opinion, Georges is a cornerstone of the Muscle Shoals area. The ambiance is both intimate and classic. I hadn't been there in quite a while, but during a recent visit to see family, I decided to return. The new owners have maintained the same menu, which I absolutely loved! We started with the crab claw appetizer, and it was fantastic. I ordered the tuna steak, while my husband chose the filet, and both were cooked to perfection. I will note, however, that when we inquired whether the crabcakes were Maryland style, our waitress looked at us as if we had eight heads, suggesting that some additional training for the staff might be beneficial. We've been several times. In fact we went for our wedding dinner a year ago and also took friends more recently and it has always been wonderful. However we understand there has been a change of ownership. This time the service was terrible. We had to wait for the server for a long time. I ordered a prime rib which was tough and had a lot of fat. My wife ordered the 12 oz and I ordered the 16 oz and they were both the same size, Small. After we got our bill I waited for over 20 minutes for the waitress to return to take my card and finally just paid cash and left. What was more depressing was this was our anniversary dinner.
The food looked great. The service was quite good The atmosphere was nice Let's go back to the food, the taste was good the texture of the meat was abhorrent hard to cut even harder to chew. It was most likely the worst $47 steak in the history of man eating meat. The server was informed when she asked how was the steak. I was there with friends he ordered the same the results were the same. A 3rd diner over heard the conversation and he too had the same and agreed.
I am usually alone so I love to sit at the bar to dine. The bar area is intimate and there are always nice fun people to chat with. The bartender is awesome, very friendly, very hard working and, yes, a bit protective. Isn't that refreshing? The food is always hot, fresh and good! Awesome steak dinner.. Hands down one of the best.. Fast professional service with a smile. They make you feel like family. Thank you, Mr. Scott , and Miss Sarah for making our dinner worth remembering ! We will be back..
The service here is outstanding. It's a very upscale establishment. The George's Ribeye is incredibly juicy and flavorful—definitely the best ribeye in the Shoals.
The food has always been great. The steaks are wonderful. The sautéed crab claws are phenomenal. Strawberry cake is the best! We love eating here.

Prime rib was so tough that my dog had trouble chewing it ,very dissatived for the price. Waiter was good.
