I had an incredible experience at Grandma's Tamales restaurant! The food was exceptionally flavorful and truly authentic Mexican cuisine. Every dish we ordered during our family outing was packed with deliciousness. The aguas frescas were refreshing, and the fresh corn and flour tortillas served hot at our table were simply delightful. If you're a fan of menudo, you have to try theirs—it's the cleanest and least greasy version I've ever had, and it's absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is perfect for families, making it a wonderful spot for everyone to enjoy.
I stopped by as the one on California has the best food and service. ordered the Faldo de res and is not what I expected nothing compared to the one on California. and no me ugh not even given tortillias what kind of service is this. no spoon wth yea even if I have to go out my way I will continue on to the one on California never been treated like this there always get good service and good food! Faldo has no potato's no calabash Jesus is this a cut back or what? Just carrots and cabbage and meat with caldo! Never again!
I've been hearing about this restaurant for a few years, and I finally got the chance to visit. I ordered the grandma special, which included a langua sope, carne asada taco, and a pork tamale with rice and beans. Every dish in the special was truly exceptional, and I couldn't choose a favorite among them. The rice and beans had an incredible texture, and even though I was full, I still wanted more. This little restaurant deserves five stars all around!
It was my first time eating here, Grandmas was a friend recommendation. I was so surprised at the interior decoration! From the outside the Resturant didn’t look like much, but that went away as soon as I opened the door! Great selection of plates, homemade tortillas and the atmosphere was welcoming. Will definitely be coming back for more!

I would advise against ordering the menudo; it was quite unpleasant. There was no flavor, and the meat had an odd color. I noticed other diners throwing it away before I decided to try it, and I soon understood why. It had an odd taste, almost like it came from a plastic bag. Overall, it wasn't worth my money. Food rating: 1/5.
The tamales here are fantastic, and they offer a wide variety of other Mexican dishes as well. Be sure to inform them if you'd like any ingredients, such as onions or peppers, to be excluded, as the menu doesn't mention it.
I ordered the rltaco salad, but it was inedible; I could only eat the tortilla. The caveza taco was good, though. My husband had the steak plate, and the meat was incredibly salty. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back.
Ordered the chilaqules with green sauce, it tasted sour, the rice and beans weren't good either. The breakfast burrito with all the meats is good, though. Michelada was also not too flavorful.Food: 2/5

What a wonderful place to grab some authentic Mexican food. The food here never disappoints. The food is fresh and tortillas are made fresh daily. The prices are reasonably priced.
Great menudo! Best pork tamales in Bakersfield! Brought mom here for an early breakfast and they never disappoint.
