This is a hidden gem. Has a small parking lot located next to Dunkin Donuts. I have been here quiet a few times. All the combos are very filling and can't really finish in one sitting. They do give you too much rice which is a waste. They do not give you extra white sauce to go when you order to go but if you sit in you can use the whole bottle which doesn't make sense. It's like the sushi places who do the same with soy sauce and don't fill it to the top. Another thing to note is the family combos are not worth it for the price. They give you more meat if you order 4 individual platters versus family combo for 4. So basically paying $4 less for less meat and a lot of rice for the family com...
I tried Halal Express for the first time today. I called and had a few questions about the menu and the man on the phone (I'm assuming the owner was so helpful and very nice. I ordered and picked up my food, and as I walked in, I was immediately starving! It smelled amazing. The man was even nicer in person. I ordered their beef kofta over rice and an order of falafel. (Both flavorful and delicious! The portions were very generous for the price. It was so good, I had to call them back to let them know how much I enjoyed it. This time I spoke to a woman. She was as equally nice. I can't wait to go back for more.
I was hoping for a nice meal of kebab and rice but left severely disappointed. The food was extremely undercooked and when I asked politely if they could cook it a little more so the meat wasn’t raw I was met with abuse by the staff and when I asked for the manager the man lost his temper and yelled “I’m the owner, I don’t care about your small complaints, get out!” I left in tears with my heart palpitating. I don’t know how you could be so rude to your own customers :
Don't be fooled by this restaurant's strip mall location the food is outstanding. Some of my favorites are the chicken mantoo dumplings and the chicken tikka. Qabuli pulao is also delicious. And don't miss the rice pudding The owners formerly were associated with Choopan Grill in Hicksville. Very glad I found them in their new location. I've tried other Afghan restaurants, but they don't measure up! Truly a hidden gem.

Lamb over rice is really good; the white sauce over the meal is really good and it comes with a salad too. Owners are very down to earth and super friendly. Always greet you with a warm welcome when you walk in.
I've eaten here twice. Delicious both times and service is so friendly. 2nd visit I dined in with my boyfriend. Huge portion of lamb over rice. Great spot.
