For some unknown reason, I have been eating Korean food almost once a week for the past month in this neighborhood. So far, not a single one offers food that impresses. Tonight, I tried out another one located inside of Richlane Plaza - a 'food' mall providing a range of culinary delights, ranging from Hong Kong style cafe food, South East Asian fare, Cantonese roasted meat, Japanese/Korean Sushi-ya and an upscale Cantonese restaurant as anchor.The place was packed with waiting patrons spilling onto the plaza atrium. We were suggested by our friend with this restaurant yesterday and we wanted to give it a try. This small restaurant was formerly a small chinese noodle shop which can seat around 35-40 people. The setting was quite standard for small restaurants with several booths and movable tables. We arrived at around 3pm and were quickly seated. There were two other couples in the restaurants. The server quickly directed us to a corner booth and presented us with the menu. The menu is in Korean, English and Chinese. Been waiting for a good Korean to go place in Richmond Hill like forever...then one gloomy afternoon when I am missing it.. the surprise find in the Rich-lane place is just delightful. The servers are all very friendly and attentive, they are all a hand-wave away. We tries Pork-bone soup, Ginseng chicken soup, Bibimbup, as well as clam noodle soup. All very tasty and the best so far. I am so happy that now I have a go-to place when I have the carving for Korean food. Definitely will visit again in a heartbeat. The price is comparable to other Korean place, but the pancha (side dishes) are plentiful and quickly refilled. Guests will not be disappointed.
My Dolsot Bibimbap arrived with a clear soup with green onions in it as well as a bottle of spicy paste for me to add to the hot stone bowl as needed. I mixed all the ingredients (assorted vegetables like carrots, mushrooms, spinach and fried egg) together and the purple rice that came with it (usually white rice is served in a bimbimbap). The bibimbap was good. I wish there was a little more beef in it though and I thought that I could have eaten a little bit more. The portion might have been a little small for someone else.The prices were reasonable here and I wouldn’t mind coming back in the future to try some more dishes.
Went here for lunch and he the Don Katsu, omelet Rice and #5 on the hot pot menu. The hot pot was probably good for three to four people. We did not finish and had to pack a take out box. The kids enjoyed the omelet and don Katsu a lot. Great meal in Richmond Hill for Korean which is a hard find. FYI...hot pot gets hotter the longer you let it simmer!!
The service was fast and the food was delicious. We had pork bone soup and dolsot bimbimbap - so good! Food was very fresh and the free appetizers were so good (and unlimited!). The space is a bit tight and you have to come relatively early because it fills up quickly.
Stumbled across this small Korean restaurant inside mall. Good value for the quality of meal and portion of food you get. The flavour is much better compared to other chain restaurants visited.
As a person who has no spice tolerance and generally dislikes Korean food as a result, I would actually say I would enjoy coming here from time to time.
After reading all the reviews of this placeI finally found the chance to pay a visit to this Korean restaurant.
